Are D0's showing same batch-variations as C0's? In case which batch is showing better OC, any pattern is emerging?
I know it is too early to have a firm answer, but I will be able to pick a i7 920 D0 or W3520 from a local store next week and I may be able to choose between different batches. Which one should i chose? Any pattern i batch or weeknr. ( for 920 or W3520 ) i should look for?

This is only bringing the same circular argument down a peg. Another set of variables and subjective viewpoints rolls right along with it. I could easily say there is no such thing as stability and talk my way out of it. I honestly won't because it is a waste of time and I don't really care enough, but you should understand where I am going here.
The term "stability" should be used loosely. The range of its usage and interpretation is as ambiguous as finding what looks aesthetically pleasing in a work by Picasso. The range can go from an LN2 overclocked CPU viewpoint to the viewpoint at the transistors level or even lower.
Take the term with a grain of salt. Use context clues to "infer" what the individual is speaking of. Honestly all of us here have a common understanding of stability (well the more knowledgeable anyway), so as long as the subject matter isn't way off, let the term run its course. The catalyst here was when a specific member broke that common understanding with the prime stable claim. He was called out and the brains here know what the truth is. Next!
With that said, let us get back on topic. I'm personally waiting on the 975 for my results but I have some choice friends hovering around with D0 on the horizon........
TinTin,
Did I say "plenty of headroom"? Yikes! 5022 is beyond words, and 4809 loaded with a superpi run is
impressive as well. Looks like your chip is golden.

I got mine today thanks to pao_revolt from Ebay. Ordered on Saturday and got it today, now that's fast. Did I mention it was only $257 after the live.com cash back. Batch number is 3849A895. I will post results once I get it installed. I cannot wait.

No, check the CPUz, it's 4623 because of turbo mode, hence why stated it was with turbo mode on. That being said I am still trying to get it stable and with my limited amount of time I am close, but I had to go up to 1.46v vcore and vtt to 1.41v. I will have more time tonight once I get home from work. I may have to back it down to 215 for a daily overclock.

Those D0 results are just too nice, looks like too many people are aware of them though, the value of my voltage whoring 940 went down like madness, only got like 10£ leftover after selling it and buying a 920 D0.
I'd say the worst part is that you payed the premium for a 940, opposed to the fact that it's a C0.![]()
For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.
.
.
No worries, sorry if I came off as an arse, I was still pretty excited.

That is not "Guaranteed" Stability. Determining stability is a determination, and a determination by definition that is a quantitative outcome by degree. Since the outcomes is variable, and by definition mathematically determined, there can be (and is) no guarantee.
Determining stability is not the same as guaranteeing the stability.

Well put!
Determining stability is simple...boot the computer, see if it works properly,
even if all you do is stare at the screen, you need not even move the mouse around.
Even if these so-called "stability tools" worked, the best they could do is *predict* stability, not guarantee it. But there certainly is a guarantee,
the one we all know about, the three year guarantee by Intel.
okay well here is a link to 5.0ghz stable using your methodology

What word would you like us to use then? My overclock is "presently functioning"
