How about a lower end MB and CPU? Ie. x3 710 paired with ASRock A780GXH/128M? 710's beside having locked lower multiplier are exact copies of 720BE, and A780GXH uses SB710 which already has AAC support.*

*Assuming one would hunt for 904-lucky stepping.

Got my 720B.E running all four cores. So far i'm at 3.2GHZ. Motherboard is a Gigabyte Ds4H with F2 Bios.

I've got 2x2gb of Patriot Viper 1600mhz 7-7-7-20 @1.9v, but they don't run per spec. I've got 10 days to return them.

I have 2 Phenom II 720BE 0851FPAW and 0851FPMW... but I can't enable the 4° core with my DFI LP DK 790GX-M2RS
I'm not using the latest BIOS from the website, because I thought they would "fix" it... I have the first one that supports Phenom II.

Is there a modified BIOS, or BETA BIOS that can unlock the core??

Try the beta bios, it definitely tries on mine unlike the current "official" release, but I can't confirm as my 0904 DPAW hits a BSOD with any and all ACC settings. The beta has been 100% stable for me otherwise.

Which BETA BIOS do you have?

I've tried 02/25/2009 BETA, but my results are really bad.
R7GD225A BETA BIOS:
ACC Auto = Fail POST
ACC All Cores +2 or -2 = Fail POST
ACC Per Core 0/0/0/0 = 3 Cores visible
ACC Per Core -2/-2/-2/-2 = Fail POST
ACC Per Core +2/+2/+2/+2 = Fail POST
ACC Per Core +2/0/0/0 = Fail POST
ACC Per Core 0/+2/0/0 = Fail POST
ACC Per Core 0/0/+2/0 = Fail POST
ACC Per Core 0/0/0/+2 = Fail POST

Any other Official BIOS:
ACC Whatever = 3 Cores visible

Maybe the fourth core is really REALLY defective. Right now I'm testing with the 0851FPAW. Tomorrow I'll start testing the 0851FPMW, but I want to be sure wich BIOS I'm supposed to be trying with... because I don't know if it's my CPU or my Motherboard/BIOS.

Edit: When you turn ACC on wich model number appears on POST? Is it "Phenom X4 20"?

I have 0904 epmw, and can enable 4th core, but I cant get a temp reading... is that just something i ll have to live with, or is there a way to get it to give accurate temps?

i was able to unlock my 720. no temp sensors now. im unsure of the stepping. ill let you know once i swap out my mounting bracket on my water block

Ive been told that if you open AMD Overdrive under STATUS MONITOR the temp display for TMPIN2 would be your CPU.
I believe that CPU temp is higher than the CORE temp but dont quote me on that one.

it looks like my x4 720 was short lived. i cant get my board to boot now with ACC on auto or with any ACC setting

. it was even prime and wprme stable with all 4 cores enabled. if i could supply a copy of my bios could someone mod them?

If you go into everest in sensor you can see what your cpu temp!
