Tankguys,
Why did you charge Credit Cards already if you don't have the item in stock or at least shipped and on the way to you? Is this your normal practice?

This was a consequence of the push in ship date, they were charged when we thought we'd have them in hand that week. It got pushed, so the card ended up being charged a little early. It's a matter of a few days though, not spanning the standard grace period so nobody is shelling out finance charges, and per our e-mail, everyone has the option to cancel - so I don't suspect it's really a big deal.

My I7 needs 0.05V more for actual 24/7 100% load stability compared to just a few hours 100% load stability.
Anyway, can't wait until D0 920's are out in a meaningful way (read: shops guaranteeing that you get one with actual stock), just hope I can get enough for my crappy clocking 940 on fleabay to pay for a new 920.

When my card was charged I assumed that the chip would be shipping, at least within a couple of days. Since I'm building a new system I had a power supply and motherboard sent 3 day select, and memory 2nd day air so I would have everything ready for the build. Even if I cancelled the order I would still be out other shipping charges that I would not have incurred if I had known it would be another 2 wks before I received the processor. I think it is very poor practice charging CCs before you at least have a confirmation that the supply has been shipped to you.

Looks like earlier adopters aren't too happy with how things go at the TankGuys. That's one of the reasons why I prefer to see the word "In stock" before placing an order for anything. Having said that, hope you guys can have the cake within a week's time if not sooner. But they said it's been pushed back to April 1st, so that sucks.

I don't mind paying extra, but like I said, the CC should not be charged until product is ready or at least on the way to the supplier. Now you have to wonder if April 1 is a firm date. Looks to me like this is a group buy instead of a purchase since the buyers are fronting all the money.

I agree give the guys who got charged too early overnight shipment. naughty and ugly practice. I expect this all to be noted in reseller ratings, no?

Very nice voltage I see.![]()
LinX stability test with full memory and 5 passes? What temperatures with that test?

First run on a gigabyte UD5 - stock voltages! 4870X2 also stock. Idle temp +-35°C. CPU seems to be 3D stable - more tests to come.
This is about the same as my C0. BTW, does EIST work on your UD5? It doesn't on mine unless I downclock to 139Bclk.
Also, where did you get your D0 (country/retailer)?

I fail to see what the problem is with the credit card being charged? If you were that tight for cash, you shouldn't be worrying about computer parts.
Its not like the span of a few days as they said is going to be any detriment to your credit, and if circumstances arise in how long its going to take to get the shipment of D0's I am sure a full refund will be issued.
So simmer down, and I think we are being a little too picky about this, Tankguys offers a service no other retailer offers and you should give them a little more credit than what has already been shown in this thread.
thanks for the compliment, rev. You're one of the top, most helpful posters in this forum, so coming from you it means a lot.![]()
Anyhow...
My awkwardly worded post needs clarification, I didn't mean I primed for 24 hours straight.
Usually, guys will push their chips to voltage/heat extremes to get an impressive prime achievement, then back off their voltage for 24/7 operation.
If I did the same thing, (down volt after prime at 4.01Ghz/ 1.184 vcore) then no telling how low vcore I could go for 24/7 @ 4.01 Ghz. I never bothered to see how low vcore I can go since 1.184 is plenty low enough.
I'm over it, just venting. I'm not hurting for money but I still don't like to spend it for nothing. I wasn't mad about a few extra days because of the credit card charges but because it seems to me that when a company charges your card they normally have the product. The email they sent out sounded like they were ready to ship so we need to charge your card.
Based on this assumption I ordered memory,MB, and another power supply with expedited shipping and it cost me about another $40 in shipping charges over normal shipping. To me, this money was just thrown away because I can't do anything without the processor.
I don't know what happened but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. They must have thought the chips were on the way and something beyond their control delayed them.

I'll never pre-order from TankGuys again. I remember last time when they did the Q6600 G0, other online retailers had them before TankGuys and they were cheaper. Not to mention the steppings that TankGuys received on initial shipment sucked horribly! Everyone who ordered from ClubIT got their chips faster and 9/10 were great OCers.
Its simple really... avoid pre-ordering from them. Chances are other more reliable online retailers will have them soon enough and at lesser cost.
