And if move the FSB up to even 201 it still reports as 201.7 I'm running vista x64 also if that matters.
I've had my system boot at 197 (when set at 200) quite often, not sure why but figured it was a bios issue and didnt pay any extra attention to it, havent seen it since i switched to bios 1102.

Getting 200.7 while its set at 200 is nothing unusual, seen that on pretty much all boards.

Flashed back bo bios 0903 and was pleasantly surprised:

300fsb was a walk in the park, all settings at auto!

Also, the Platinums did fine DDR1200 5-5-5-15 with 2.18V.

bios 1104 is up at the asus ftp site now, not of the regular site yet though, downloading and going to flash in a bit

    ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so.../M4A79_Deluxe/

EDIT: Well got it all set up, so far I think this may be the best bios out yet. I would have issues with all the previous version with my dell perc 5/i raid card, but this bios seems rock solid with it. With older bios version sometimes windows would say that the raid card failed to start or whatever in device manager after a soft reset, even though the card was detected during post. But I have restarted windows about 20 times just trying to get it to do that again and it hasnt done it once. Also so far it was not messed up on the FSB starting below 200 yet, everytime I have booted it has been 200.7. Before I flashed to this bios it kept starting up at 193 and would not change. So far seems stable to me

Little update. I had been restarting my computer from within windows and my perc 5/i was detected in windows every time no problem. Then I decided to go into the bios just to see what it says the temp is, i then told it to save settings (didnt change anything though) and reboot. When my computer came to windows my perc 5/i "failed to start", so i restarted again within windows, and it would not come back. I ended up have to shut down the computer, unplug the perc from my system, turn it on and let it get back to windows, shut it down, and then plug the perc back in. So this bios is certainly better then all the other bios revisions when it comes to the dell perc 5/i, but its still not perfect. I really hope that ASUS is able to completely iron out this issue with the perc 5i/6i.

I had some time to check the voltage at the point that you specified. The vdroop is indeed massive. With a requested 1.60v I get 1.58v at idle dropping to 1.54v at the lowest in linpak. I see 1.64v in Everest at idle, and 1.60v under load, so it appears as though a correction factor of .06v can be used to determine the actual core voltage from Windows.

Hmm, that is indeed a big drop.
What exactly do the 1.9v over volt jumper do? Does it just enable higher voltage to be set in bios, or do it change something else as well..? A reading with it on and off would be sweet.

Hmm yah I wouldn't worry to much about that jumper unless your on LN2....the board tends to overvolt when you go over 1.635v.....1.75v is more than enough for air, water or DI.....as thats what I measured on DI with jumper off and voltage at 1.7 maxxed in bios...moving it makes not one diff, just unlocks higher voltage in bios.....up to 1.9....speaking of which I ran out of voltage under LN2

I'm running 1.6125 at the moment. It gets me 1.59 at idle and still 1.54 under load. The jump from 1.60 to 1.6125, in spite of not showing any higher on my DMM, did improve clocks a touch. I was able to get another 15Mhz with it at the higher of the two. Perhaps the two decimal places on my cheapo DMM aren't telling the whole story.

With 1.475v set in bios, I get 1.46v at idle and 1.41v under load with prime... And that is what I'm using for 3.6'ish ghz.
I have to set 1.525 in bios to get 1.46v under load, and 1.51v idle. Its a no go for 24/7, that's for sure. This was measured with a dmm btw.

I would wait for the next BIOS (later this week) as it will address stock voltage setting problems, additional memory tweaks, NB speeds are back up to par, and maybe some help with Vdroop under 1.6V settings.

Yep this is whats happening when I bench under cold to, making for very inconsistent benching.

My gigabyte delivers more voltage when loaded and less in idle....sort of like loadline calibration.

Well even if it undervolts a lot, at least now it are making some sense to me. I was starting to go mad here :P

I hope they ASUS makes a bios that is stable with the Dell Perc 5/i. To many times now does the "device fail to start" in windows when I reset the computer from within windows.

Sweet, I've been a little dissapointed with this board and voltages. Looking forward to this. 1 hr to go until I go home and I will be putting in 4 more gigs of memory I just got from Newegg. 8 gigs of overkill Couldn't resist, $45 for another set of Dominator's

Can you tell us what version to look out for, or will the fix list be descriptive enough? I upgraded to the beta 1104 and it did not fix the stock voltage problems so I just want to make sure I get the right one when it comes out.

Thanks for the heads up and all the info.

Thanks for that but I have already been running that beta bios since the night it came out. It did help my problems with the perc 5/i alot, however it frequently still is not recognized within windows after a reset.
