Just some info from my findings so far with the 720BE & UD5P...
Been trying for days to sort mine out, with virtually no success in OC'ing at all...
Initially, the board came with fb BIOS, and no matter what i tried over the stock 2.8Ghz, i would run into some problems when the system was busy or running a heavy application (No OC to memory, NB, etc) Then flashed to f3b, upped the volts a bit and tried unlocking the 4th core, which all resulted in Vista x64 not booting, and being none-repairable. Wiped the drive AGAIN and flashed to F3i, and all was fine @ stock, but as soon as i tried to OC, it would crash out time and time again, resulting in yet ANOTHER none-bootable Vista... Repeat the above with F4 Bios... As you can imagine, I was REALLY pulling my hair out.
Yesterday i flashed to f4g and wiped the hard drive.
Set the memory to 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 / 1.8v as specified got the USB drive out and booted into Memtest - which would fail after around 20 mins.
Dropped it to 1333MHz and I've ran a couple of hours without problems, so for some reason, my memory won't run at the quoted 1600Mhz
Any Ideas?
Then tried Windows 7 install, and while the system was installing it, i got allot of time where the system would seem to hang, or do nothing for 5 minutes, not even the HDD light would blink, and all of a sudden, the DVD drive would fire up and off we go.
Any ideas?
Win7 Installed now, and takes less than 15 seconds to boot to desktop from leaving POST.
Tried x15 Multi @ stock volts and ran Prime (Blend) for a couple of hours, 3DM06 and further Memtests without problems so far....
Was doing all this till around 4am this morning, and today, i'm knackered, LOL.
Must have been a dodgy Vista Disc or something, as (touch wood) i seem to be having more success with Win7.
Your comments, views and suggestions are more than welcome. Chew* has been a star with the help, but i hate to keep pestering the same person all the time.
