Both my E8600 and Q9650 ( with are both real nice sepping) run at 500MHz and with 5:6 dvider for the ram.

So the FSB is not the problem, with 2x2048MB the board+quad does 500Mhz. I think the fact that all 4 slots are populated causes too much stress for this board. It just can't handle it with a power hungry quad installed. Also, the VRM temps are off the charts during a Linpack session

Right now I'm back at using 2x1024MB. Ordered me a kit of 2x2048 OCZ Flex 1150 which arives next week. Next month I'll be swichting to a Gigabyte EP45-Extreme. I see that board runs Quads with 4GB or bigger load much easier. I know my quad stepping has a lot of potential in it but I'm just not getting there on this DK P45.

Also, i'm missing more elaborate CPU-, NB-GTL and skew settings on this board, which clearly needs to be fine tuned for high quad clocks
I think you may be very dissapointed with the Giga. I've just built a rig for a friend using the EP45-Extreme, and i can tell you that it will not get my 4 sticks to 563 fsb 1:1. The highest i could get them was 542 fsb.

If you really want and need the full control over the CPU, NB_GTL and Skew settings, then you should seriously look at the DFI UT P45 T2RS. A fantastic board, once you understand it. Plus ALL the control you can want.
