yep, very mysterious since there was no physical damage to the board it just refuses to power up.

I did some quick tests to see how my (same model as the OP) G.Skills would clock in my i7 system. At first I tried 1.4x QPI/VTT and I couldn't even get back into the BIOS. I raised QPI/VTT to 1.5xx and I was able to get Windows to try to boot at 2000mem/4000uncore but got an instant lockup. I didn't have a lot of time so I gave up and backed off to 180fsb for 1800mhz to keep the stress off the system and it worked great. I hit 22xxx MB/s mem copy in Everest.

Edit: Sorry I was rushed. My point was that I think my CPU is limiting me from doing DDR3-2000 not the memory. This is great stuff.

    Hey fellas,

I´m playing atm with this sweet Memory too..

This Samusng HFC-0 Chips are very nice and after this session here on the Gigabyte UD3R I will test them next on the DFI DK X58.

    Setup:

    Retail Core i7 920 3839A
    Gigabyte UD3R Bios F4b
    3x2GB G.Skill 6GBPI
    Vista x64 & XP x86

    Benchmarks:

    DDR3-1600MH CL7@1.60V Vista x64:

    DDR3-2000MHz CL8@1.70V Vista x64:

    DDR3-2000MHz CL8@1.70V XP x86:

    DDR3-2100MHz CL9@1.70V XP x86:

    Super PI 32M DDR3-2000MHz CL8@1.72V:

    Stability:

    Prime Blend DDR3-2000MHz CL9 CR1@1.71V:

    Prime Blend DDR3-2000MHz CL8 CR1@1.79V:

This is a great „Low Voltage Kit“ which is running fine with high VMem...

Anybody know the difference between this kit and the F3-12800CL8T-6GBPI kit which has exactly the same specs but are $100 cheaper???
These are the blue ones and not the black....is the only difference the color??

At NCIX they have these two:
    This one:
    G.SKILL F3-12800CL8T-6GBPI PC3-12800 6GB 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL8-8-8-21 240PIN Triple Channel Memory Kit (F3-12800CL8T-6GBPI) (36168) $219

    and

    G.SKILL F3-12800CL8T-6GBPI-B Pi Black 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 8-8-8-21 Triple Channel Memory Kit $374

Specs are the same on the G.Skill web site.

    Thanks

short question... which MB would you choose for these G.Skill F3-12800CL8T-6GBPI-B Kit & i920 ???

    1. DFI X58-T3eH8
    2. Gigabyte GA-X58-EXTREME
    3. Asus P6T Deluxe or Rampage Extr. II

I heared that DFI tolerate lower QPI than others...

Id like to find your opinions

    Thanx

    Thanks

I just got off the phone with G.Skill Tech Support USA and posed the same question to them. I was told that both kits are the same, but they cannot guarantee that the blue kits have the Samsung IC's. To which I replied "then they aren't the same".

He started in on timing specs. voltage specs. being the same etc.

So in short, they are the same, but may not be the same, or to put it plainly i'm not sure anyone will know until someone picks up a kit of the blues and peels that heatspreader off them

I don't even need DDR3 ram yet, but NewEgg has them for $109 plus free shipping. At that price I think they are worth buying and putting up on the workbench until I need them.

One more reason to envy you all and be sad at the same time that i cant get them in Greece. Really good for their price. I think i have to stick with the uber Dominators 1600C8 atm. Any chanche to run them at 2000c9. LOL.
