I am considering that also, where I am going to have, so far, 3 of these setup Crunching exclusively 24 hours. I have a clean relatively dry area in my basement that I was gonna set these up in. How would you go about this? set them on a shelf, or secure all the parts to something; board, psu, and HD?

The Corsair 400w is a good cheap workable option and if on sale can be got for under $30.00

Would that psu be good enough, or should I look at something different?

Try to buy 80 plus supplies, they do help reducing energy.

These are the SL98Q's I got from itxchange.com, the 1.67/667. Though to be honest I might wait on these as I got a few of the SL9HN's coming and already have 3 boards, 2 PSU's and a bunch of memory
This will show my tech level but- I have seen a CPU not encased. sorry for the not so great pics

    yup, grabbed that one myself..
For all: the key is making sure the PSU has 24 pin and 8 pin for motherboard..
Even a 300w should have more than enough ooomph to run this..Quality before size is the rule here.

That one is sold out so I went with the 450. Also ordered some ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820134272 and a hdd. All the parts needed but heat sinks are ordered. Just need to wait on Dave for those.
Maybe I should get his number and bug him a bit.

    something interesting I came across:
"A planned successor, codenamed "Merom MP" was to be a drop-in upgrade to allow Sossaman-based servers to upgrade to 64-bit capability. However, this was abandoned in favour of low-voltage versions of the Woodcrest LV processor leaving the Sossaman at a dead-end with no planned upgrades."
