    1) Yes, all of our resellers should be selling the same pump
    2) The tops should work... our's does

I do not think most web sites changed the specs from the DDC-2 pumps when the DDC 3.2s came out. I still see sites with 6.1m of head for the DDC 3.2 which is wrong.

BTW. I still have two DDC-2s running as well on a 24 hour rig over a year now.

It looks like they kept the smaller impeller inlet size to reduce load and used the DDC-2 impeller for performance gains. As Martin stated a marriage of both models.

It would be nice to know if the electronics were updated as well.

Doh, I'm about to do a rebuild (stuff in sig) and need more pump power. Plus my skills at "asthetics and wiring, suck!"

Dean, what's the mounting procedure for your pump? I notice it doesn't have feet like the 3.2 model. Or is that just the pictures?

There is no mounting method. There are two holes on the bottom which can be used to mount it to plates though.

Fail. I'm sticking with my 3.2. If it were a drop-in upgrade (drain loop, unscrew pump from bracket, remove top, attach top to new base, attach base to bracket, refill loop) I'd be ordering right about...now. But I'd have to come up with a new mounting system. Not happening.

I for one am glad we are moving forward with pump progress again. There will be someone that comes up with a way to mount the thing in fine style I am sure. (Charles_H/Nils/BA)

I had a DDC-2 almost take my system out of commission permanently. Thats why I run a BigNG now, but even that wouldnt stop me from running the DDC-2 over the 3.2.

I see...that's too bad. Thanks for the quick response!

I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to rig one up, but I've already got UN Designs pump brackets for my DDCs and they make it so easy....

The UN Design brackets may actually fit, they all have the second set of holes those look the right distance apart. I would need measurements to confirm it though.

It appears the old style mounting feet are optional. I wonder why these were not chosen? Sometimes I wish they were not there, but the UN design bracket changed all that.

You should see the E5 version I use in spas! I talked to Martin about it a year ago, but he never had enough interest to test it at that time.

Since I use the Alphacool top with the rubber bushings in the sides the feet are not necessary, so the new model would be fine.

Looks like there is no performance gains and reason for upgrade if using old DDC-2 pump with good top, old, but very good stuff if its not dead My DDC-2 is still strong and silent from year 2007. BTW its Delphi rebranded or something like that and manufactured in 10th of november 2005.

But DDC-3.2 owners, they maybe need to get one of these better performing models especially on high restrictive systems.

Yes, I also have one of those tops and know what you mean.

However, as with all DDC-2 tops back in the day, they have the small protrusion on the suction side inside the chamber to keep the impeller aligned which will not fit the smaller diameter impellers of the 3.2 or 3.25.

People with alphacool tops are way in the minority, so I wonder why they did not choose the feet? Dean?

I think the biggest reason to change is the electronic side. Performance looks about the same as a DDC-2, but the DDC-2 had a nasty start-up in-rush amperage demand that would fry a controller. I think Petra measured 4 amps

Probably because the feet would be a hindrance in the Koolance bay mount stuff that uses pumps.

I have a Alphacool top as well, sadly, I can't say to many glowing things about it.

You may not know this, but Delphi and Laing co-developed this series of pumps specifically for water-cooling systems for computers.

Also, the first "D" in DDC stands for Delphi-----as in Delphi DC (direct current) pump.

So, Delphi's marking on the DDC pump is not a rebranding but from the co-developer of the pump. I'd think in countries other than the U.S., you'd actually find Delphi DC pumps labeled as such since Laing is the U.S. distributor of the DDC while, from what I've been able to gather, Delphi is free to distribute/sell in other countries.
