I have this issue. Bios/everest/vista read 4gb. Cpuz read 6gb. Is it possible to have 1 module dead while its installed on the board and just bios dont read it? Shouldnt i have a bsod or something? Dont know what to do

what does memtest86+ v2.11 report for memory size 4GB or 6GB ? what is your lowgap set too as they can change available memory in windows the higher lowgap is set.

But the fact that one out of three sticks cant load windows and stuck and CF is not enough evidence thats its dead?

Just run memetest 2.10. I managed to boot with three sticks when i installed the "dead" one in the middle green slot. But then i run memtest and stuck in the memtest blue starting screen just showing memtest 2.10+ and nothing happened. After that i took off the "dead" stick and i could run memetest happily with the two sticks. RMA eva?

Memory LowGap: is for mapping local memory (add-on-cards) to system memory address size. It most like AGP port Aperture size or PCIE1gen 250M fixed mapping size. Extend it can solve when if "add-on cards" request a bigger size as like we would like to enable Qual SLI on NV new 295, it must be extend over 2048M. Can confirm that with 2x HD4870x2 in Crossfire I had set my LowGap to around 2176 at least. With Highpoint 3520LF PCI-E x8 256MB cache controller added into HD4870x2 Crossfire, I needed at least LowGap of 2560 otherwise windows boots to a blank window and doesn't go any further. As to how this effects windows available memory, with single HD4870x2 installed and 3x1GB memory, if I set LowGap to 2560, WinXP Pro SP3 32bit sees 1.5GB available memory. If I set LowGap to 1024, WinXP Pro SP3 32bit sees 3.0GB available memory IIRC.

The stick died at the stock 1.55v. Dont ask me how though, i have no idea. The two sticks boot up normally, one stuck at CF error code.

My lowgap is set at 2048M. But i dont think that matters. The fact that as soon as i install the dead one along witht the other two bsod me before vista i guess explain the situation.

I purchased the 3x1Gb 2133 Adata kit from memoryc and they will be here on Tuesday. I want to try running this kit with my 3x1 GT kit for 6Gb total on my DFi. I know that ic's are the same but do I have to make sure that the spd's are the same for this to work?

Not always, i have mixed Ballistix D9GTR with Corsair (Samsung) for 6x1GB. It wil be hard to get it up and running at rated specs though.

Talked with the store. RMA in progress but they dont have another kit handy so i will get my money back. They told me that they also had 2-3 kits with some dead modules like mine. They are not going to stock any soon so i think i have to go with the low lvl 1600c8 dominators. Damn my luck.

Mate thats pretty poor from Adata to release 3-4 ram packages to one shop. I wonder what the other shops selling them around the world stock piles were like. It makes sense why no one other then Andre has been singing there praise, about how good these sticks were. I think i will stick with Corsair or wait for g.skills perfect storms to come to the market.

Its not a-data problem. Why you think the GT's are sold out for most of the time? Not many IC's can do this it seems. I wouldnt count on many sets in stock from any brand.

I've been searching and can not find anything instock from any manufacturers....being told Elpida is not yeilding what they expected.....no dates as to when this relieved either

It is adata problem imo. If adata wasnt ready to import the product in the market then they shouldnt do it. I didnt expect to run 2000+ C7 @ 1.65v, but at least they shouldnt die on me after 2-3 days. And the problem according to the shop is that im not unlucky, its that all the kits they sold had several issues. I just wish they could replace my kit with a new one just to try one more.

Adata, like the other manufacturers are most likely more then ready to supply the retail market. If they don't receive the ICs they can't make the modules. One should fully expect this issue as the lack of chips from Elpida is well known.

I don't agree when a shop gets a small inventory of stock and there all faulty, then to me thats a problem, there is obviously some major issue's here. I feel for Chaos, i'm just glad i never jumped in and tried to get an import of these.
