    Perusing Laing's website and found this...DDC 3.25?

In my busy schedule of mandatory retired aimless perusing of website's, I noticed Laing had redone their D5/DDC website pages.

The DDC had some interesting bits.
    Website link:
    http://www.lainginc.com/pages/ddc.htm

First they have a photo of this center inlet top option... Probably not of significance since most people run aftermarket tops, but knowing the losses incured by the 90 degreee inlet which we're used to seeing.... it's too bad the standard DDC or Swiftech MCP355 doesn't just come standard with this straight inlet top..

Being more interested now, I then I checked out their spec sheet for the DDC here:
    http://www.lainginc.com/pdf/DDCSpecSheet_web.pdf

This is where it got much better....take a close look at the bottom PQ curves...

A DDC 3.25? Maximum pressure is 22+ feet as opposed to the DDC 3.2's 16 feet. This strangely resembles the old orange impeller DDC 2 stronger performance. Are we getting that back in this new V3.25 iteration??? Sure looks like it to me...

They also had a new brochure here:
    http://www.lainginc.com/pdf/DDC3_LTI_USletter_BR23.pdf

And I find this volume compensor note. Not sure what it is exactly or if it would have any performance gain, but curious...

Anyhow, thought I'd due dilligence in providing some interesting bits on what appears to be at least a possible DDC 3.25 coming. Not so sure about that volume compensator chamber, but the performance graph of this DDC 3.25 looks to be very appealing in today's ever increasing restriction...

I just hope this new 3.25 is something coming soon and I hope it has the same realiability of the 3.2.

Now...I'm curious what they changed. There appears to be about a .1AMP increase, so there is obviously some electrical/motor gain, that appears to be across the board. I'm thinking there has to be an impeller change here too. The question then begs....will it be compatible with current tops. Anyone's guess at this point..

    Cheers!..

First person to get one and post pictures wins!!...lol

    More info please, Dean? :p

I pestered them for so long about tooling up that top and making it available... heck, I still have one of the prototypes sitting in my drawer.

Anyway, aside from the top, I'm not sure what they've done to the pump so I guess I have some e-mails to send out. As for the volume compensator, it does just that... compensates for changes in fluid volume in a cooling system (basically, you have a hole that runs from the center support (below the bearing) through to a chamber with a spring-loaded diaphragm at the base of the pump).
I'm doing science and I'm still alive...

I saw that on Laing's site about a month or so ago but never really scrutinized what I was looking at (it registered but I never got the ) because I was busy looking for some other info....good find.

    Good to know...

So the compensator is out, but let us know if you find anything on this 3.25... Looking at the curve, there has got to be impeller revision and possibly some sort of motor revision. If it was the motor only, you'd see a much more parrallel gain across the curve.

Looks good though...I was sad to see my old DDC2 fry when I ran 30 volts through it......

That performance may be coming back again...

After clinging to my D5s (mcp actually) for so long, I finally make the move to a ddc (w/ an EK top) and they come out with a better model!

Checking now to see if my ddc is an EVGA branded model, might be an upgrade... No!

I know, I'll just wait for reliability stats to develop for the new guy, yeah, just waiting to see. Feeling better now.

Oh man....I want one. Is this enough to infect Martin with a water-bug of some sort? I hope so.... I still don't fully understand the layout of the pressurized expansion tank though. It's not basically just a res top right?

Okay, well basically Koolance has been purchasing and reselling the DDC 3.25 for about a year...

Afaik, the 3.2 version was kind of a mid-point where they became RoHS compliant and the 3.25 they worked the performance back in. In my testing I measured about 20ft of head pressure on the 3.25.

You'll notice the actual number on our website is 19.5ft.

Edit: I'll have pictures tonight, but the 3.25 has an orange/blue impeller

Then this is pretty much exactly the specs of the DDC-2, which I am still rocking! This is good news. 2 of these pumps in series will power ANY monster single loop. Multi loops are IMO still over rated

and Nikhsub said it and it was good. I was already planning my next build to be single loop for silence
