I guess I shouldn't rely on Sammy too much... It's darned stable, but apparantly Boinc screwed up two! weeks ago... It didn't communicate with the WCG servers... I have WUs ready to upload that were due the 27th of February

Oh well... uploading 60WUs now... I might get half of the credit for them... 532 hours of no work though

    Installing Boincview as we speak.

EDIT: Sigh, all too late and no credit for any of them... 2 weeks wasted.

The thing is, it's not consistent about which dimm it likes? It always seems to enable dimm 1b, then sometimes it brings 1a online, but disables it on next boot. This is very frustrating, especially since I've shuffled around all the dimms through the first few slots to try it out.

Anyway, time for sleep, maybe tomorrow it'll work?
use 2nd and 4th slot from the top when board is in a case
DDR2-400 ECC REG is a must here.

That's the place and do NOT buy these if you have or are going to get the Intel board..
These are for the SM and Tyan boards and are totally different:

Trust me people, I will crunch 24/7 with a Sossaman rig if you can find me a pair of CPU's!

That is the only thing stopping me from getting a Sossaman rig. I can get the board @ $19 + shipping to the UK, I can get memory/GFX/PSU, etc.

Its those damn CPU's, I swear they are like gold dust!

Being able to only use 4gb out of 16gb is really frustrating, especially since I know these are good chips that were working in Sammy1. Looking at the validated memory list, it seems that a good portion of the 2gb chips tested were dual rank, but you would think that single rank dimms would be more compatible, not less

I'll probably swap some 1gb chips out of Sammy1 to try, but it'll take time since Sammy1 is in Utah now. blah.

Anyone using single rank 2gb dimms with the Intel board?
yes, VERY picky with memory.. Wes got some DDR2-533 ECC reg to work but I grabbed some and it wouldn't.
Thats why I always tell people to stick with that Kingston DDR2-400 ECC REG fromm the egg for $36.00 for 2 gig..
Not many people are using as much mem as you are.

So in the end what is best for Crunching-the cpu or the amount of memory? I know everything all together helps in the grand scheme of things, but what helps you get the most work units per day?
