    Question G15 Keyboard Macro issues

Hi guys, if this is in the wrong section then sorry and please move it to the correct section.

I've bought the new Logitech G15 keyboard, now I've never used macros so I wanted to ask a few questions:

Firstly what do macros do? From what I've read and understood its like a recording function and an alternative to pressing several keys in a game to get something going. But can anyone give me one example of using a macro in a game and what you would use it for? Because I mainly play Day of Defeat and I can't seem to find a decent use for it.

Secondly, how in the world can you get the Marcos to work as shortcuts to open up Internet explorer or my e-mail account? In the G15 software it gives me the option to select for example Internet explorer as a shortcut but when I press the macro either nothing happens or a help box pops up. I cannot figure out how the hell to make the macros act as a shortcut in windows to open up programs that I want to have as shortcuts?

This second issue is really annoying me as I want to be able to use this keyboard to it's fullest but still can't as it doesn't seem to be working or at least I do not know how to use it. Any help (especially on the second issue) would be greatly appreciated.

See my point exactly, now I've only had the keyboard for like 3 days but I don't want to go months without knowing how to use all the available features, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Macros do what you said you think they do. I remap my keyboard to macros and use them to enter data and launch applications. For example, I like to have the "enter" key on the left hand side, so I map it to the G18 key by doing this:
    1. Launch keyboard profiler. 2. Click on G18, select "Assign keystroke" 3. Press "Enter" key in the space where it says "enter your keystroke".
That's it. Now every time I want to press "enter" and my right hand is on the mouse, I don't have to reach over the keyboard and pressing Enter any more, I can instead press G18 with my left hand.

Hope that helps. It's really rather simple. In this manner, I use G9 to Copy, G12 to Paste, G15 to Delete.
For launching application, lets say for example I want to use G18 to launch Internet Explorer, I do this: 1. Launch keyboard profiler. 2. Click on G18, select "Assign Shortcut", 3. Type into the middle space this whole thing: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe". Thats it. Now, G18 Launches Internet Explorer.

OK ok ok ok ok I got it, stupid settings were off:

Went to Settings - Profiler - then profile tab at the top - and de-selected "enable default profile" and enabled "enable persistent profile (you can also leave the first option on and change the default profile to what you want "general" in my case) and it worked cause I was changing the macros for "general" profile and not Default.

    Thanks for the help though
