that ulta PSU is trash only their 1kW and up are good from them, look at the corsair 850tx or the xigmatech if u want modular. and i would get the dfi UT its a better board has working turbo mode and has a much better bios
5930k, R5E, samsung 8GBx4 d-die, vega 56, wd gold 8TB, wd 4TB red, 2TB raid1 wd blue 5400
samsung 840 evo 500GB, HP EX 1TB NVME , CM690II, swiftech h220, corsair 750hxi
What are some other modular psus to look at?
dont want to go over 800wt, dont need all that power.
and i thought the p6 was one of the best boards
Zanzabar is right. Splurge a bit and get Corsair 1KW
What about the enermax 85 series.
those look badass!
Don't get corsair like everyone else !!![]()
Go Silverstone !!
The Corsair tx850 should handle that rig just fine. (70A on a single 12V Rail 0_0 !!! )
Perkam
What about the Enermax REVOLUTION 85+ 850W?
I dig the colour scheme. It would match the bloodrage perfectly!
BTW, im switching to the bloodrage since the 'egg finally has it in stock.
is the 850 modular though?
i want modular. no exceptions
I'd go HX1000![]()

A Phenom II + 790FX system with 8GB DDR2 and a HD4850X2 would give you 90% of that performance for about 60% of the price. You wouldn't need a power supply of more than 650W (corsair/silverstone quality) either.
You could also go HD4850X2 + HD4850 1GB for tri-Crossfire, and get better frames than the HD4870X2 for roughly the same price.
I'm not saying it would be a better choice for you. I'm just trying to show other options.

the p6 are asus boards so people will buy them but asus has a bad bios with hidden settings and for $10 more u get a dfi with 8phase digital voltera pwms and every setting that u could want and more are there and dfi has been making it so that auto works for the more obscure settings. and u wont have to fight through AI booster randomly assigning a performance ll on the ram and then adjusting that in +- were u could just have a straight forward number. and the asus boards dont have turbo mode working so its like loosing 2 multis
and ive been eying the volcan psus and the corsair 850

they are supposed to be all be on the same platform and the volcan is modular

there is alot more than molex on the 12V, the 12V has the cpu 8pin the pci-e and the higher wattage part of the 24 pin
