Lowering Vcore a bit now @ 1.22V after the Vdrop , my C0 went as low as 1.36V

, too bad that the P31-DS3l holds me

dang. you need better cooling a better board. lol by the looks for it you could go higher than 4.5

and i think my dfi 680i is holding me back.

I bought it thinking for 9X400 as my PC6400 CL6 ram will hold me

, cant blame 36$ ram kit and 65$ board

nope. i cant. i only paid 65 bucks for my e8400 30 for my ram and 50 for my board. i already had my water cooling.

e8500 @ 4Ghz undervolted.

e8500 @ 4.8Ghz 3D06 being limited by my DDR800.

Coolest running cpu I've ever owned.

hes got speedstep or ce1 turned on in the bios which drops the multi down to X6 when theres no load on the cpu

and what about the first screen were the OP says 4GHZ , Core temp says 4GHZ , CPUz says 3.78GHZ , still the 3D mark 06 CPU score is exactly where it should be for a 4.8GHZ CPU

lol idk about the 4GHz, but the 06 one it read the stock multi 9.5

so he has to answer that one

Cpuz does not read the .5 multi

As you can see it only reads 9x multi.

Using an e8400 here, why is it that in cpuz the core clock jumps from 1998.0mhz to 2997.0mhz while the multiplier jumps from 6x to 9x @ 333mhz fsb. Is it suposed to be doing this?

Thats because you have the power saving thingys on. Therefore when the CPU is idle it reduces the multi to 6 to save power and when its under load it increases it to 9.

They are called

CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E)
C2/C2E State Support
x C4/C4E State Support
CPU EIST Function

(Thats what they are in my BIOS, I don't know about yours)

it will keep your processor from dropping in speed and voltages while idle.if you run it ar 3.9ghz when idle it stays 3.9
