I sold my boards before 17xx series went official... so I cannot comment on that. Remember that a newer bios is not always better... if the rig is stable no use in flashing at all...

I'm really not having luck with this, it was all good last night......had it running fine and was ok running IntelBurn and Prime for 6 hours. Woke up this morning and got error messages....kernel missing...and couldnt repair it so have to reinstall vista again.
use norton ghost or sortliek to create an iùmage of ya partition, will save ya loads of time reinstalling over and over again... give us your settings Oggie mate... proves again that IBT is not bulletproof

Cheers mate for your help
Yeah its a pain having to reinstall all the time
Here they are mate

Dont understand why it keeps on getting corrupt though, a bit strange to me![]()
Try the above changes, I still think 1.3 is too low Vcore, plz test CPU first with Prime Custom ( min 20K - max 20K) and let that run for a few hours... just to make sure the CPU is okay... If you cannot get it stable at 10X why not try eg 9 or 9.5X and test ya settings again...

Bios 1704 was the best one for me. It was the only bios that made my q6600 stable. even at stock all the other bios were not prime stable until 1704.

Nah mate , maybe yours is better to stress even more, though I let it run like that for a few hours and if it doesn't fail it's vcore is more than stable enough for daily usage... if you stress it with IBT it could be you need more Vcore. But hardly any , if any program, stresses ya cpu like that... to me IBT is total overkill

pff i am having big problems again :-(
I was overclocking my cpu and i got a corrupt bios (i don't understand how this is possible) i got it fixed.
But now its impossible to OC :s keep getting a boot block. I changed the bios to the 1704. (i was alway's using the 1406).
I mean could some one please help me out.... Its not like i changed alot but for example changing FSB to 340 causes boot block...

just swap the Bios chips man, or if ya feeling keen do a hotflash to rectify the corrupt one

Ok need a bit of opinion, been running prime for over 8 hours and no probs. The reason i did it cause this morning i couldnt even boot up on stock settings . What i did was made sure that my sata cable and power cable was properly attached to my had drive.....could that have been the problem ???

Just played fallout for over an hour and no probs. Will leave it on 4.0GHz for a week or so and then will try and push further. Have also changed my SATA cable just in case, also left my ram at 1:1......its loading up vista much quicker then ever before
Someone has bios 1805 unfelled

ok guys, i lowered my dram frequency to 850 to get 1:1 with my fsb and i cant notice any improved boot loading time, r u sure 1:1 ratio is really that helpful or is it just hype?
the only thing that changed is the ram frequency, timings stayed the same, i know i should be thinking about tightening up those timings but what would be the right values for corsair dominator at this obviously underclocked freq?
i know keeping freq low if all 4 slots r occupied is good for the memory controllers lifespan but what r the tradeoffs , there must be some, i gave the memory controller more breathing space by lowering the frequency but what will happen if i tighten timings?

Try Koda's FLASH tool mate, and don't flash with an OC, reset all to default, just up ram voltage to the required voltage... if the 2nd bios chip (mine was with 0803) didn't work either I think you bricked either board or ram

okay the last part is like chineze :p but it sounds bad. (and if it were bad would it be possible to get an rma out of that)
And it was not flashed under an OC![]()
And i wil have a go with Kda's FLASH tool.
Thanks in advance
edit,
ow come one a 1GB memory stick :s cant i just delete some of those biosses that are in his file? I mean i am oldschool my memory stick is like 512Mb![]()
