    OCZ shows a PCI-E 8x 1TB SSD

Consisting of 4 x 256Gb SSD in RAID-0 with 256Mb of "RAM". It reaches 400MB/s of sustained write speed, 500MB/s peak write speed and 600MB/s in read speed. It is equiped with an Hardware RAID solution too and is on PCI-E 8x bus because it overloads SATA II. Price: 1500$

    Niiiice!

If they made a 4x 30gb + controller card... I wonder what the price would be... that would be better suited for me personally.

I really have my doubts that a 1TB SSD will be under $700 within a year.

looks nice but need performance figures . It is definitely MLC so hopefully the controller is good.

Considering the size that is CHEAP. 250 GB SSDs are around half of that price, so 4x250GB + RAID+cache RAM...
I'd buy one right away just for fun really! Considering the size I would only expect it to be reliable - not even worried about random performance here
Just lemme know where to buy...
    P5E64_Evo/QX9650, 4x X25-E SSD - gimme speed..

How long is that card actually? It appears to be very long, but that might be a bit of a deception. Now get me something like this with about 250GB of storage and a reasonable price.

Hopefully its FAST and performance doesn't DEGENERATE to 5400rpm drive level like the current Intel SSD drives.

to say that it's pretty is an understatement.

Needless to say, I want one.

NAND prices drop really fast from year to year so hopefully it will be "cheap" by the time it's released

The maximum advertised speeds are 600MB / s read, 500 MB / s write and 400 MB / s random write. Deux contrôleurs seront présents : un pour le RAID hardware (MARVELL) et un pour la gestion des puces (Indilix ou Samsung) mais aucun n’est encore choisi de manière définitive. Two controllers are present: one for hardware RAID (Marvel) and one for the management of fleas (Indilix or Samsung), but none has yet chosen a final. Le prix annoncé est de 1500 $ pour une garantie de 5 à 10 ans. The advertised price is $ 1,500 for a guarantee of 5 to 10 years.

IMO it looks to be 4x250GB vertex drives bonded on a raid card. Good price for space though. If you remove the casing I bet they are regular drives with no stickers and sata connected.
But I also understand why they went for 250GB drives... who would buy single Vertex if you couild get 4x60GB on this!

From what I could gather from the French article, the warranty on these things will be somewhere from 5 to 10 years. This 1 TB version will be released in May and they already have plans for a 4 TB version, but that version may require active cooling.
All in all, pretty sick if you ask me.

EDIT: XS Janus apparently was a bit quicker than I was.

4 TB is way to much, I'd better want let's say 8x60GB or even 16x60GB, and PCI-E 16x

4X retail Vertex can't write anywhere that fast... Possibly 4x Vertex with custom firmware.

    LOL you are right!
    Damn marketing FUD

IS the IO meter test 4k?
Single 250GB Vertex does ~2500 on ICH10R and 2x120GB on ICH10R do ~3500, and this does ~5400 in this preview test...

Well, ~20MB/s, 5000 IOps, that pretty much says it's 4K
