    940XE @Ln2 : 5,6G valid + Benchmarks

    Hi,

Last week I had the chance to test my cpu under 2 stages cascade @ the UFH team clocking party (Thx Boblemagnifique). After it I had a great feeling with my setup so I decide to order some ln2 and with the help of my friend boblemagifique try to squeeze out some results
I had no coldbug untill -161° (I have never go under since it's not necessary) but there's a sweat spot between -130°~-145° :

CPU Ln2 pot by Skirms_Fr (Thx Boblemagnifique)
    EVGA X58 SLi
    Intel Core i7 940XE ES
    Kit DDR3 3x1Gb Kingston Hyper X 2000 cas 9 (Thx Boblemagnifique)
    Sparkle 9600GT (thx trouffman)
    Thermaltake Thoughpower 750w
HDD Samsung SATA 80gb (thx Md curl)

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=516867

And SuperPi 1M just for fun

CPU Ln2 pot by Skirms_Fr (Thx Boblemagnifique)
    EVGA X58 SLi
    Intel Core i7 940XE ES @5318 / 1,67v
    Kit DDR3 3x1Gb Kingston Hyper X 2000 cas 9 @1029,4 cas 8-8-7-21 1T/1,95v (Thx Boblemagnifique)
    Gigabyte HD4870X2 @842/970 (thx Boblemagnifique)
    Ikonik Vulcan 1000w (thx Trouffman)
HDD Samsung SATA 80gb (thx Md curl)

    Single card :

    Crossfire X same settings :
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=4772291

I had many problems with Crossfire X, drivers and OS, don't know from where it was coming but I must work on that, my GT3 was always way too slow whatever I make

I need to improve my tweaking skill but I think it's not too bad for a start...
I have still the others benchmark that I had not the time to do and some few VGA left to bench but I must get some more Ln2 first and here it's very expensive

    Bye

940 ES B0 are unlocked and CPU-Z recognize it as 940 XE so I guess we can call it like that

    nice stuff!

Did you guys find the evga board gave you an advantage over the Gigabyte with this chip? From what I recall, Boblemagnifique was using the UD5 with this chip, ya?

    thanks for the info!
my x58 extreme acted really funny under DICE, wouldnt boot at like lower than -10c but then once booted and reset could take whatever temps (keeping in mind this being DICE...) but if it went to a full shut down I would have to wait for it to "warm up" before booting, pretty annoying....this was with a 940XE BO, the reason why I asked....

Very good results! Too bad there is not so many CPU's like that.

But is this bobles CPU? You both submit scores to HWbot with same CPU? On 2D benchmarks it is not allowed, if you guys didn't know that. (3D is OK)

    If you have 2x 940 B0 CPU's which can do 5.6GHz, then I'm fine
You are as good as your samples are!

It's my CPU that I had lend to boblemagnifique but it's long time ago now Scores I have published are all from last week/this week and I have do it ALONE !

But wait, I know sharing validations is forbbiden, but if I understand well, you are saying that I CAN'T lend MY hardware to my FRIENDS when I want to they can make there OWN scores with it ?

    Bye
    p€p|n0r@ng

EDIT: Please don't take it bad if my words hurts you, it's not my intention, it's only language barrier.
EDIT2: Bob was under cascade, is it good if I have a 2nd 940 ES B0 that can match exactly same bob's submitions clocks under cascade ?

Yeah, that is the rule. You can't lend your hardware to friends. CPU for 2D and VGA's for 3D.

For example, you have this golden CPU. Then this golden CPU is going from one friend to another and finally there is only scores, which are done with this particular CPU in top 10/20 in HWbot. Your own HWbot team will get all point's and other users are in bad situation.

Rules are rules, but we have to have them. It doesn't take any credit away from any scores, if they are not published on HWbot too. Sharing is not nice and we are trying to get rid off it.

    Thanks for understanding.

I was there for the spi 32M score and also have a little video :p

I remenber that there were More than one "alien" CPU, I know that OverCrash has one...

@SF3D :I thought that CPU was intend to be bought by bob then he gave it back to pepino "(pep)ok you want to test it prior to buy it ? ok... (bob) then, no you have a better board keep it bro' "

    anyway it's my opinion :p

Good score and impressive chips ! just need to find better ram stick and go !!!

so we can not share the same cpu for 2d benching and I agree with you guys but if we sell that cpu?
the buyer can not send the 2d score to HWbot anymore?

You have to be the owner of the chip/card Junior as far as i know. Buying it would make you that but i agree its a thin line and really hard to check unfortunately. Good rule though. Crazy chip

    @SeLecT : Thank you man.

@hiwa : Yeah, thanks, I've been very lucky on this one !

@blind_ripper : Hope that wait been worth trouble bro

@AndreYang : Thanks, it's really a nice chip but yours is better

@pauld5999 : As Andre says, Evga can go more cold than Gigabyte but I also gain about ~50mhz benchable with same cascade at same temp.

@Bullet92 : Thanks, As I've sayd in first post, I need to improve my benching/tweaking skill a bit but it's not so bad for a start I guess

@DFI pit bull : Thank you man.

Yeah, in fact the story is that Bob was supposed to pick up the good one to buy it and sell the other one, but when he had test the two chips and discover their oc potencial, he called me back in order to cancel the selling since he is a great and honest friend.

About ram you know what's the deal

@PcCI2iminal : Thank you my friend, it's a pleasure to hear that from you

@Achill3uS : Thanks, I'll try to do better next time About ES B0 I was selling this one plus two others (about 200~300Mhz less good under cold) since 2 month but nobody wanted B0 until bob thought that they were good

    @loc.o : Thank you man.

    @i found nemo : All core i7 have 4 x 256Kb L2 cache, what do you mean ?
