Yep, I know. I have to pass up deals right now tho. Lack of the job dictates my spending habits right now, plus I have a car repair bill coming that I shouldn't have had but the "warranty terms" say they only pay 7 hours worth of work on the motor replacement. According to one of the worlds best modders if you do this you get a 2400/2mb/800 sammy( if your using the 2000's)

I have not read the whole thread so forgive me if this has been asked. How would it compare to an oc'ed Q6600@3.4-3.6? If it is close to the same I may have to find up the parts.

You sort of have to read thru and learn about "Sammy"
He has talents well beyond computational power but to answer your question a 2000mhz Sossaman setup is app 50% in terms of daily output in WCG vs a Q6600 at 3600mhz..
BUT:
Costs app $170.00 for board,2 cpu's,2 gig of memory and the special heatsinks..
Draws app 110w at 110% load and gives off essentially no heat..
Cpu's run at 34C at 100% load on air..
Oh, and the Board we use orginally was a $430.00 Intel EATX server board that we now buy for $30.00 delivered in the USA..
Stable as anything you ever saw..

list of 'to-do' torture:
1) move PCI slot - yes, i'm gonna solder it onto a diff location - if this works, I'll skip no.2
2) remove PCI slot entirely, to see if the mobo has survived
