Wire or rocker switch sound good, but that adapter is really nice! Thanks to both of you, now I know how to setup a quad 295 rig, if I ever get the money to pay that kind of electricity bill lol. But it's nice to know.

Well looks like I may have solved my PSU issue. I switched some plugs around on the modular PSU and it raised my 12V back up to 11.95V and I'm consuming 770W...so I think this is a bit of improvement over the 11.84V and 900W+. Time to overclock and crunch crunch crunch!!!

    lucky you!

I need to file mine. Probably won't go to any crunching stuff though, I have no real job and need to pay down school loans and car payments and such I do plan on setting aside some for a little stuff but it won't be anything earth-shattering.

I think I'm going to completely switch over all my DFI boards to EVGA. DFI boards have been quirky as of late with me. Trying to find a EVGA 780i so I stop running into nvidia gpu issues.

Interesting, If I didn't had that many instability issues I wanted 3x 295 GTX but the drivers sucked and I said no ... I want to play and work on that PC not just watch it fold

Still pretty nice, but I rather spent $_$ on goodies

I'd have to win the lottery to do something like that. I can't imagine the power bills.

    1070watts without SMP per 4 cards......calculator time

One in each room and turn off all the heating in the house might offset some of the cost

I don't need a calculator 38 X $500 is 19K just for the GPUs. On his website i think hardware costs were 3 large per node and 9.5 nodes = is 28.5 K for hardware.1070WX 9.5 X 24 X 30 divided by 1000 times whatever the KW rate is more than I could ever afford.

Anyone having any luck with the new 182.06 drivers? Seem to work a little a better, but having some compatability issues running three cards though.

Haven't tried them. 181.20 runs perfectly in XP so I'm sticking with them for now. I've just been fighting on my main rig with a driver change on my ATI card, 9.1 was causing random system pauses while folding, and 9.2 just came out so I installed them and so far so good.

And the HD in fold1 pretty much quit today, so I'm imaging the drive to another one (which is taking forever) so I can get the last gfx card online for the race. Figures the drive has to wait until now right before the race starts to fail.

Quick question on vga dummies, when using a dual card in vista such as the GX2 or 295 do you need a dummy for each dvi port or just one per card?

On my dual 9800GX2 rigs, it's 1 monitor and 3 dummies per rig. On the GTX 295s, you'll have to figure out whether the 2nd gpu is associated with the 2nd DVI port ot the HDMI port. It may vary with different brands. My MSI is associated with the HDMI. In either case... one GTX 295 1 dummy. 2 GTX 295s= 3 dummies.

You've got plenty of time to pick up adapters and transistors before the competition starts tonight. If you've got 6 gpus on one rig, you need 2 more dummies or monitors.

Radio shack should have the risters. You should have gotten the DMI to VGA adapters with the cards. Fry's would definitely have what you need if there is one close.
