cause it looks like the tdc/tdp limit one of them is not implemented prop for mycase
it stops the throttling but theres the issue of the 80C limit.
I have the same, I had this on every bios, maybe thats why I dont see any difference with the new bios?

    the loadline thing
is the same for all asus 16phase
i had the same thing for m2f and re
only diff the increment was slightly around 0.0125v or so .

hey busta i am doing a test atm in and out of the casing and different kinds of load on the pwm and also the qpi/dram voltage card
inital result shows that in the casing.. theres definately a need to have active cooling on them
the qpi/dram card was freaking hot on linx and especially memtest hci .

t_flight intead of posting here y not u guys just pm between
cause nobody really cares about that corsair issue

but i would really like u to give a feedback for the bios
did the function have a negative impact for the 965xe

that would be the first positive thing uve said so far other than all the negative post including about asus engineers etc.
we can feedback more things to them
since this the tdp has some initial result
ive started asking them about the cold boot and psu correlation.
my intial impression it has to do with the phases on the pwm and the qpi/dram voltage card.. just a gut feeling

Thats an interesting finding cstkl1, my set up is on a benchtable, no case... I might pull off the heatpipe assembly and re apply tim to everything.

Though with the 775 version REX, this was an issue, maybe same applies here. Have you got a link to that block please?
The loadline thing doesnt concern me tbh, its good to know. awareness is half of the battle.

Where is this on the board? the qpi/dram voltage card? im assuming its the chip under the ram just above sb sink?

    Now, back on topic...

I do not know why everyone is getting worked up over the slight overvolting the board does. For me this is no more than 0.03V so I just conciously compensate for that. No need to get your panties in a bunch

My part number though is different than most (or rest) on this board and is posted somewhere early in this thread. Maybe that is why my overvolting is lower? If my memory serves me well my part number is 90-MIB6L0-G0EAY10Z compared to everyone else's 90-MIB6L0-G0EAY00Z. In any case, voltages under idle and load are some of the first things that I checked when I got the board and it is good practice for everyone to do that, so to those that did not do this they should really make this a habit. How else would you even know that your board is running within desired specs otherwise?

In terms of the cold boot issue I have started to experience lately again, I am doing some testing on memory timings at the moment (not the basic four timings, but other timings) and so far I seem to have eliminated my cold boot issue.

We'll see what happens when I tighten things further. Right now I set my default timings for 1804MHz as 8-9-7-19-1T and the rest of advanced timings according to what gets set when I use the X.M.P. profile and the cold boot went away.

I am still convinced that at least in my case the cold boot is DRAM related.

ive reapplied the tm and now blasting my 2hp aircond towards the bench rig in the room to lower the temp and see whether theres a difference after a few hours.

the qpi/dram card is under the rog logo.

advice ppl please use some finesse when u try to remove this card.

This is the only board that I haven't stripped the NB/SB sinks off and re done the TM, I really cant see it dropping temps that much, if any?

I know I could watercool it all, but that's more that I don't want to do right now. Small 40mm fans would be much easier.

When I put my 8" Lakewood fan blowing on the MB directly all those temps drop to like 85-95*F

Posting this up again. Could anyone give me a response? Thanks!

If you look back on this thread, someone tried that, and also a Noctua heatsink, making little difference. But there is no harm in it.

nb cooling on stock doesnt much of a difference
    unless
this is what happened to me
uncore 4000 vtt 1.48 heck did a 5 hours memtest on it nb temp 57C
put into the casing bsod when the temps reached 60C
placed a 40mm fan on it bsod after 1300% but nb temp now 57C
    i was like wtf
took out rog logo open the side panel casing
placed a coolermaster crossflow fan ( the one that they used for the 830) yup its a big long fan.
uncore 4000 vtt 1.48 passed memtest hci 5 hours.

just want to share on my config.
which is y i think the ek block for the nb/sb is stupid
the bits power and the new koolance might proove something

    the cons of my assumptions
i didnt take in consideration it could have been the pwm's as it heats up pretty much and the heatpipe is just running along to the passive cooled heatsinks under the qpi/dram card.

That Koolance block does look interesting. I wonder how much a difference it will make. I have some old watercooling parts just sitting around I might sell and buy the Koolance block just for the hell of it.Of course then my ROG thingy wont light up anymore

If this assumtion is correct then it would explain a lot. nb and sb are ok on my board the temps are good even under load they are not bumping up too much.
im just gonna take that rog logo thing off and have a fan blowing on the qpi/mem voltage card and see how it goes.
