I'm always scouring eBay for some GKX, I dunno how I missed that, unless they were 2x512MB kits. I did manage to snag a 2x1GB Firestix 8000 kit for $32, but I killed one of the sticks pulling the heatspreader

yes they are the same sticks lol

they would do about 1160 CL5

you can always try your luck but if you do get real old stock with the clips
and be carefull lots of degraded sticks on ebay
i just bought 2 sets of d9gkx to add to my collection lol i couldnt resist 2 sets for 50$
No right, I would never buy a used pair. They usually don't last too long as it is so you'd be taking a risk with a used kit. Thanks.

I finally said screw it, I really despise PayPal and EBay so I'm going with these puppies. Retail and a slight price premium but at least I won't have to screw around with some EBay seller if they're no good or DOA.

Team Xtreme DDR2 PC2-9600 1200Mhz and guaranteed Micron D9GKX. Plus if they fail I don't have to worry about them sending back some Qimonda (like some other memory companies have been known to do *cough* Corsair *cough* ). Nice 5-5-5-15 timings but a somewhat high 2.3-2.4v. Well I'll let you guys know how they clock when I get them.

Nice sticks, I have a set that can do just under 700 cas5. I am also testing the 1300 in another system which is doing 580 cas4 at 2.45v on a P5Q. Don't sweat the voltage so much just throw good fan cooling on it and your fine,2.35-2.45v is the norm for these sticks.

Amazing. I've been looking for a set to do C5 1333Mhz for short periods of benching and 1100Mhz-1200Mhz or so for 24\7 use. Looks like the Teams are it.

I was also looking at the non D9 2x2GB G. Skill 1200Mhz PC-9600 but they're close to $300. They also have the same 2x2GB set but PC2-8800 for like $80 but they're out of stock. What's with the huge price discrepancy for 100Mhz? Anyways 1100Mhz kit is unlikely to hit 1300Mhz+ speeds.

When you said testing the 1300's did you mean the Team PC2-10400 6-6-6-18 set? Are those 1300Mhz C6 sticks also D9GKX?

Oh, and for the record i did try the 24hr in the FREEZER fix before posting!

Unfortunately, it did not repair the bad stick. My bad stick will run but I get tons of memory errors under memtest+ 2.11 memtest 3.5 Windows mem test. Freezer test had no effect.

That should not be a problem. Here is a single 32meg Pi run I just finished 5 minutes ago with the 1300. Get your happy face ready when this stuff arrives.

Impressive, really low voltage on the CPU and 45% RAM OC at C4. Very nice. Your CPU temps a really low. What are you cooling them with? What Vdimm was that at?

After reading through the thread with the 2x2GB 1200Mhz G. Skills (1250Mhz 1.85v ) I was definitely tempted but these two 2x1GB Team 1200Mhz kits were cheaper in the end by around $30 ($260 for vs $290). You won't get the G.Skills to hit 1333Mhz+. Plus some are reporting average OC on the newer revisions.

@Flesheatinvirus Are you using those rather large looking Thermalright sinks? If not are you just using a fan to cool them?

BTW here are some Firestix 2x1GB for $50 Canadian. While not as good a deal as stated above still not bad for D9GMH. Only like 20 kits left too.

Yeah and the only reviews from people are from a few years ago.

It's so great having memory prices so low. I can't remember the last time you could get $400-$600 memory for $125.

No these are the normal sticks without the sinks and I just use a 90mm smartfan plus to cool them which is fine. They are D9GKX

So with the D9GMH, D9GKX, etc.. discontinued are the few companies that exclusively use these chips for their high end simply using old stock? How are companies like Team and Cellshock able to get a steady stream of them?

I was thinking about that and was curious if anyone knows because it seems to me that they've been discontinued for a while.

Hmm.... interesting. Are you sure that has relevance to the year they were manufactured? I was also thinking maybe there is still a surplus in Taiwan but because of the lower lifespan and high RMA rates of the D9's most large memory companies don't want to touch them anymore? Just speculating here but I wonder.

hey everyone, listen up,nothing set in stone here yet but i am thinking about selling my two kits of cellshock pc8000's cl4 d9 gkx.cause i really want to get 8gigs of G.skill pc9600's.i like having 8 gigs using my pc8800 g.skills but would love to be able to run 500fsb using the 5:6 for 1200w/8gigs.thats my dream speed for 8 gigs.dont get me wrong the cellshock perform flawlessly for high speeds it just that since i went from dual core to quad core, high fsb speeds are at a premium(500-525fsb) for me at least.and these stick are built for 545fsb and beyond.i will still have my teamgroup ddr2-1300's pc10400's,so i would still retain the ability to reach high ram speeds.well any ways it just a thought at this point.dont want no bidding wars.when and IF i decide to sell them,i'll post it in the for sale section and the first person to PM me that meets the quoted price, will get themselves two kits of cellshock pc8000 cl4 d9 gkx.cheers

Do you really need 8 gigs of memory ?, what are doing on your computer ?, 8 gigs of 9600 gskill is going to cost you over $600, i can get 6 gigs of corsair 2000 7-8-7-18 for that much, you should consider moving to ddr3. The money you spent on your quad, and that g.skill you want, you could go I7, and smoke that setup you have, nothing against you Raja, your a great guy, seems to me like a waste of money. I agree with zsamz, 8 gigs is way overkill.

well when i get my home recording studio pc built they will go in there.i know they expensive but they are one of the best kits of ram available at the moment, mainly because of the speeds with such low volts.like i said before i really dont do anything with my computer right now except for OCing.so thats why i had to practically find some kind of purpose for it(build a home studio since i play guitar) to justify my non stop purchasing of computer parts.otherwise its alot of money being spent on new parts just to OC it and surf the web to post my OC's.and then buy more to get better OC's to post those OC's.kinda drug like in its addiction.
