You need to get yourself introduced to a neat little program called RMclock.. I have been using that on Pentium M and Core based laptops for ages, really does wonders. It allows you to reduce the CPU's Vcore, thus allowing to run undervolted, same speed at immensely reduced heat output. Depending on the CPU, you can get as much as 50-60% lower temps and power drain even though the CPU is still running at full blast.
For example, my 12" IBM subnotebook is crunching like a champ, 15W from the wall running BOINC (while the display is off), and it produces 2 HCC WUs every 7 hours - can't beat the efficiency
It runs a T2300 Yonah (1,83Ghz/FSB166/2MB), stock Vcore on that one is 1,26V, but the CPU still runs prime stable at 0,975V. Power drain from the wall @ stock Vcore is 26W --> makes one hell of a difference![]()

Who me? Nah, I just try to show people that it's WE that can make the difference and I honestly beleive that.
The day will come when some WU or set of WU done by us or others like us will yield the information to some researcher in some lab where he looks up with a smile and says " I got it!"
People in that lab will rush over to him and look at his findings and probably bust out a bottle of champagne.
It will happen. When I don't know but it will and that day will be a great day for mankind my friends.
I don't need or want glory or my name in the papers. I just want to see the next generation devoid of these diseases.
Seeing kids in a cancer ward with bald heads from chemo and the optimism on their faces can tear out your heart.
It does to me and thats why I'm so into this.
That and the memories of my grandmother slowly dying of cancer back in the 1960's.
Makes you feel impotent not being able to help them.
This way we can.
Sorry for the rant but every once in a while I feel the need to say what I feel.
