Talking Modded Biostar TPower I45 BIOS

Yep, I said I would, and now I have had a little chance to play around with the TPower here is the first mBIOS for it

    Changes

    - Updated built-in Memtest 86+ module to V2.11
    - Changed some default settings
    - Default vDIMM is now 2.064v
    - Replaced P6 Microcode module

Some may be wondering why default vDIMM is 2.064v. The answer is simple, I noticed GKX and GMH Micron D9 modules don't play nicely with the TPower on stock voltage, even though their fine in my P5Q Pro, so to circumvent the no boot problem with these modules I upped the default vDIMM a bit.

    How To Update The BIOS

    1. Place a floppy in the drive and run Dr. DOS
    2. Place AFUDOS and TPower2.rom on the floppy
    3. Restart and at the DOS prompt type the following;

    AFUDOS.EXE /iTPOWER2.ROM /PBNC /N

Thats it! Just hit enter and let the utility do its thing.

The BIOS has been tested and it all works perfectly, just remember to load setup defaults after the flash. The package includes all necessary tools to update the BIOS via floppy disk.

Awesome, so does this mean all currently released LGA775 CPUs are supported?

I don't know about all, because I dont have like 70+ CPUs but a good majority should be fine at least.

    Right, so what will improve?
Will and ovberclocking improve? Or stablility?
Can you reduce the vDIMM, or can you only increase?? as my Crucial actually runs better at 1.986v
    Thanks

Sounds like you can still increase/decrease the vDIMM as necessary. He just defaulted it to 2.064.

Yep everything is still adjustable, things like stability I have no idea about (hence where all you ppl come in ) Theres more work I want to do on this BIOS, at least try and make it half decent by fixing its bandwidth issues. Read and Copy everest results are totally sub-par, especially Copy results. Their sub-par to the tune of at least 2GB\s.

When I enable C-State I get much better copy times.
I am going to give this bios a try when I get home. I really appreciate your effort in this.

Things look good so far Maybe its just me with the poor Copy results in everest, but theres no reason why my P5Q Pro should destroy the TPower by some 3GB\s

Do you have DDR Enhance mode disabled? Disabling it causes what you describe.

So, this BIOS doesnt have smaller voltage increments?
I think I might try it anyway, does it offer any improvements over the one I have, (one that came with the board, which I bought just after christmas....)

Theres small improvements in various areas. Finer voltage granularity isn't something thats easy to do. It may not even be possible.

Sounds like I have to try that one out. Has anybody tried the max OC. Any changes?

All s775 CPU's are supported? Like Celerons and Pentiums. If it is so, you are my hero!

I havent Tested Celerons or P4s, simply made changes which may help with C2D compatibility. If some P4s and Celerons work, then added bonus.
