well I just got my 940 from UPS today ))))) Ordered through newegg since I couldnt cherry pick at any store close by, I think I got fairly lucky though, my chip is number 182 in the batch.

Dont see anyone with this batch code though, any one have it? Will it be a good O.C.er?

I don't think so, but you have to try it first.

I think he was referring to the batch number, not the OCing potential of the chip.

Oh, I interpreted it as that it probably wont be a good OCer. Well it will still be about a week before I get this rig together so I will post the results here when I get everything going.

I think he means we havent yet see enough week 51's to make a comparison, I haven't seen any 51's myself yet.

Dumo good job man, looks like the 790x boards are more HT friendly. Is it worth anything performance wise?

    I have a problem

Vista 64, CoreTemp, and nVidia System Monitor sees my PHII 940 running at 3800mhz, but CPU-z still displays the default clock speed. I think I have the latest CPU-Z version. Mobo is M3N-HT Delux

Mine is 0851APAW. Stable at 3.7GHz with 1.40V. Unfortunately I can't reach the stable the 4GHz at any voltage.

Well thats disappointing to hear. Oh well, I guess I would even be happy with a 500MHz overclock, thats all I overclocked my S939 3800+ X2, bringing it up to 2.5GHz. I'm sure this CPU at 3.0GHz would make a world of difference in my HD video encoding. I hope mine will hit 3.7 though

Probably next week, I'm working 3 graveyards starting tonight, so I don't want to get started on this project just yet, but next week I got a couple of days off to play with it

This is true, for water to make any diff, it needs to be a real cool running setup. I mean cool...and then it is only good for 200mhz at best. atleast from my experiance.

custom tec then for best 24/7 use.

at stock volts I'm idling round 33-36 depending on what I'm doing.

I wonder if getting colder makes the chip go faster regardless of clocks/volts first.

someone here is using a ultra tec cooler I forgot who....?

yes colder the chip is the less volts it takes to reach speeds.

This could apply to virtually all cpus. The vast majority of users oc's would increase were they able to lower the cpu temp further.

Not sure, possibly. Your memory (which I'm unsure of) would appear to be kinda lacking in bandwidth. Those everest numbers are kinda weak. You sure tighter timings and slightly less mhz doesn't perform more efficiently?
