    SilverStone Raven RV01

I just saw this on BoobTube and it is a really cool case I think I dont know if anyone has seen this yet. Only thing I think they messed up on is its plastic not Alum. Would of looked really nice with a nice black or silver Alum surface.

Yeah it was unveiled quite awhile ago. Played with one a bit at CES and it is actually very sturdy feeling, the plastic isn't as bad as you might think.

Really that is interesting I havent heard of it till today but it is a cool design I think. I like how the motherboard got turned 90 degrees and I wonder if that will do anything to help temps at all or not?
It is 250 on newegg also which I think is maybe a little high for plastic but again you said it was not bad so I would def lke to get my hands on one and see it.

Also I like the cable management the whole case has very nice and well thought out case I think.

I think it looks cool. I might use it for a build for one of the large GPU companies

My impressions so far, this case still needs some work, nothing much a little fine tuning. You have to see the raven in real to get it's beauty. Plastic has never looked this good and I am in love with the 90 degree turn of the mobo.

First problems you are going to encounter is that most of your cables are too short, like the one for my areca display, solved that by cutting and soldering an extension.

    I hate these jobs

You get only one hotswap connection, I had ordered 6 of them and put them in. Guess what, cables are short too but I copied what I saw in a review. The hotswap bays are rather nice and work good. This can't be said for the rockers, removed those and used old school screws. This side is still a big mess.

pic of the front, the lower 3 bays are for the ssd's, still waiting for the them to arrive.

    the 180mm fans are huge!!

Here you can see the main problem, it's a to get the wires left of the mobo from the back. They should move the mounting of the mobo 5-10mm to the right. I took real care to have all the wires there before putting the mobo in but you always forget something or want to change some wires. I ended up taking it out three times and I'm afraid I have to do it again tomorrow cause I want a sensor in the space where the areca is jammed.

This is how far I got today

Think I solved the audio connector nice, didn't want to run it over the mobo. It was a getting it like that, oh wait I said that already

    topshot

Normally I would have been pissed after a day like this but this case has something special, I like

not much progress today, been held up by lapping

cpu was not difficult, but you can see here it why you should lap

    end result

the noctua had bad grooves, and with bad I mean the worst I have ever seen

took me all evening to get it how it should have been in the first place

    it's gpu and gpucooler next
