The discussion is purely about who owns the record on futuremarks site and if you forget any interest or fanboism in either company there is only one that you can choose and that is AMD's claim.
The "approved" driver issue is an old problem at Futuremark and largly because of how long they take to approve new drivers.
BUT the only thing that should be looked at here is what was the highest total done using approved drivers and that is team Finlands score done at the Xs party. To think anything else says that any driver can be used and that simply isn't how it works.
Now I'm not trying to take anything away from boblemagnifique's submission and I respect the guy and his skills but until that driver is approved the record has to be seen as team Finlands.
I'm back to my previous point, no submission should be allowed unless it is with approved drivers and that would solve this issue in a heartbeat.

thank you. i wish it was that way but it never will be and i can see this thread getting closed soon.
well first you need to actually read the post instead of going on an anti amd mode like you normally are. second you among many other intel fanboys are a bunch of hypocrites that say something one day and do it the next. why do people even post when all they say has to do with amd/intel hate and nothing is based on facts, just on how the feel about the rival company?
I must agree with Movieman, it's a shame ithas turned into this. I had a great time and the event and people I will not soon forget. Hopefully I will be able to meet everyone again, and soon.
Consider all the resources that went into that event, it was no small feat what they did that weekend.
It's to bad that so much is place on what FM does and says. You live and die by what FM does it seems, that and the fact that no other resource is avalable to keep scores on.
I give Team Finland all the credit they deserve for what they did. Great Job Guys !
Yes I think so too and most likely he will do that soon. My post means nothing against Boblemagnifique. I've met him couple of times and he seems to be very nice guy.
My point is that there are now some false allegations being made by Intel employee and TG Daily has written a story about this subject.

yup yup all understand and agreed
I share similiar thoughts as MM on this one, overclocking community is pretty small as it is, blue or green, there's no need to treat the others as the enemy, instead we should appriciate any result from whatever hardware it was obtained on and should be giving a punch to try and do it even better. Competition is great but respectfulness and humbleness for other people's achievements is even greater.

Sampsa does have a point there and majority of user comments here agree with him(apart one or two which can be ignored in any case).
I find it sad that Mr. Dr. Who was compelled to contact THG(of all the sites, why this one?) and present this as "AMD lied" thing.
The FM didn't approve the drivers used with intel setup(9.1 beta) and that's it.When/if someone replicates the 46+K score with approved drivers the list will be updated again,as simple as that.
i gotta conradulate you Sampsa + ur freinds for your efforts
all records fall sooner or later so the babies need to chill and stop bashin the accomplishment of others
Drwho? just scared AMD on intells heels
if we didnt have amd we still be using a prescotn maybe pay 500$ for it
i doubt i will own an amd chip any time soon

Dr. Who has his own 'political agenda'. For us this is fun and a hobby, for him mostly work. Don't blame me for bashing him. He bashes against AMD to much in public.

I just found this from XtremeSystems, more bashing from Drwho? I guess it is now confirmed Intel employee contacting TG Daily was him:

come on, we're better than this.
do we really need to start a thread to point out someone's lack of political poise?
listen, it's unfortunate that francois has chosen to stoop to our level.
when he started posting more frequently i used to think it was cool that someone so close to intel's developement process would hang around here and occasionally swoop in to provide an enlightened answer. But if it turns out that he's just here to tout his hardware so what. He deserves no special recognition for it, negative or otherwise, because that's what every one of us does every single day; we post out benchmarks, FM approved or not, and hope for someone to call us a god.

Phenom II Driver status: WHQL - FM Approve
http://service.futuremark.com/result...eResultType=12
I7 Driver status :WHQL - Not FM Approved

-_-
I've trashed AMD enough as well. But for the sake of benchmarking, only approved drivers should be used just as Movieman said. This one is pretty easy. When I first saw this, I didn't know none approved drivers were used. Without rules results are worthless.
Again, this benchmark was a waste of time and the video card's drive just make that case even more. Why not Cinebench or Crysis? Guys the i7 was running at WHAT?Processor clock 3693 MHz doesn't make anyone question the large speed difference more than the drivers used?

there yo go bringing intel into a amd thread again lol, if that was someone droping a dig at amd you would be crying like a girl.qft!
All this time I thought that AMD bet on PII low system price (if you also take into consideration the board it is obviously cheapest) and not on PII performance ...
It's supposed that we all together in this benching community, sharing our experiences, competing for first places (friendly), exchanging knowledge, but turns out that a lot of things have changed these last couple yearsDr.Who was being negative from the moment first un-confirmed pictures came out, showing AMD CPUs over 6GHz ... I know he sees all this like one more thing he has to do for work, but has no right to disrespect in that awful way three overclocking legends like macci, SF3D and Sampsa !
Benchmarking is about WRs you "fools" ... It's about having fun, that's at least the main reason overclocking started years and years ago ... Seems like though, fun is sacrificed and replaced by marketing, money and business ...
P.S. Not approved drivers used hence, no WR can be claimedIt's like as if, for example some guys posted 3 months ago PCMark05 WRs that had XP Startup way above 225 MB/s limit

Thanks Sampsa. I must admit it's just like Drwho?.
FM does not approve the drivers used in the Core i7 run. So Corei7 run is not suitable to be at the ORB. AMD is number one of the ORB right now, even if you don't like it Francois. Just redo the bench with proper drivers so you can post it and beat the Phenom instead of going to the press with that kind of BS.
