    Around $500

During CES, Corsair exhibited an ASUS X58 Rampage II Extreme running its upcoming Dominator GT DDR3 2000MHz 7-8-7-20 sticks at just 1.65 volts.

Before the end of this month, the company will officially launch a 6GB kit for around $500, which is a fairly reasonable price point considering the higher estimates that have been circulating the past couple months.

As mentioned earlier, the new sticks are powered by Elpida's new 50nm integrated circuits which are capable of remarkably low latencies at high frequencies up to 2500Mbps.

Corsair will reveal several other new products later this January, including a DDR3 1866MHz kit with CL7 timings using the new ICs as well. We look forward to covering the product lineup as it hits the retail market.

not bad, but i was hopping you could manage a price tag around 400€

but seems like, top products always have to be top priced.

anyway can't wait to see them on retail

    cheers

There is no release date yet. Bachus is still barricaded in the lab getting them just right. And, there is also no retail price set yet, anything stated is pure speculation.

Looks like release date is closing fast. This place is already taking pre-orders for OCZ Blade kits for $614.99. Corsair should follow suit soon.

thats freakin unbeliviably high. We just lost 75,000 jobs in america today and they are pricing these modules waaay above cost. wtf. They may sell a few to enthusiast that dont have to worry about money but i'd say every body's job and pay check will have been effected by the current economic climate

I agree. That's some insensitive . I'm sure that company is run by Gordon Gekko. I'm disgusted, but this is a niche product for a niche market so as long as there is demand for goods that set themselves apart from the rest by people who want to set themselves apart from the rest then nobody can fault Corsair's opportunistic behaviour.

Yup, it's definitely a niche market, and besides, would that price point not help stimulate the economy further?

This also possibly is affecting production (sorry if its a repost)

Japan-based DRAM maker Elpida Memory is currently in negotiations with Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC), Rexchip Electronics and ProMOS Technologies over a merger deal and is considering to release shares to the Taiwan government in exchange for funding, according to sources at DRAM makers.

Elpida has opened up in a bid to beat it main rival Micron. If Taiwan government becomes the biggest shareholder of Elpida, the problem of giving Taiwan DRAM makers the company's latest process technologies will be easily solved, the sources noted.

Officials in Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) said they will need to see Elpida's proposal before making any moves, but if Elpida is willing to release its process technology to Taiwan makers, they should be able to pass the proposal to the legislative house for evaluation.

I've resolved to pre- order the OCZ memory, since all I'm getting it the run around form Corsair. I pre ordered 2 weeks ago, and still waiting. Geez. ther gotta be a better way of getting info on ETA of releasing products so people aren't sitting on ther hands looking at boxed parts waiting to be assembled.
