figured i'd contribute, havent primed it, but so far so good, im sure its stable, not the first time I run this clock, just flashed my bios to a new one so i am trying this out for now.

I was able to run 3dMark06 @ 4 Ghz. But Prime would fail in less than 30 mins.... lol. I guess my batch doesnt like 4+ mark.

But my rig is Prime stable at 3.9 on 1.25V Load with QPI : 1.3125.

Sigh, Prime blend stability is tricky on high Nehalem clocks if you are trying to run the memory fast also. You may need to tweak timings, add LOTS of VTT voltage or in some combinations of settings increase Vcore by one notch past what's stable in LinX! I think the cores can show instability once you actually feed them enough data to saturate them. This may be a Vista/Windows-7 64-bit thing only.

I think I was able to get 4.2ghz to pass LinX x 20 on air only because I was running the Uncore at exactly 2x the memory which chokes off performance slightly as shown in my test data. I could bench all I wanted to with 3400mhz and 3600mhz Uncore @ 4.2ghz and I saw gains at both of these increased Uncore clock speeds. It was very hard to get LinX stability @ 4.2ghz on air so I didn't even want to deal with the Prime blend crashes after an hour in again. I will try Prime again once I get my first WC loop operational.
980x build underway. 2600k commencing soon.

My Memory timings are 7-8-7-20 on Dominator (8-8-8-24).

I dont like to use excess Voltages than Intel recommended: QPI : 1.35. So I am using QPI: 1.3125.

211x19 didnt work well at all even at 1.4 CPU V.

    Currently, testing 210x19 = 3990.

Icecold316, have you tried 190-191 @ 21x multi (turbo)? I see you have nice memory but it's possible that the IMC on your chip isn't good enough for it at those bclks and memory timings.

I'm starting to wonder if my chip simply can't go past 200 bclk without obscene amounts of VTT. I needed 1.395v for Prime blend stability at 20x200 with HT enabled with only 2 memory modules.

    Just tried 190-191 @ 21x multi (turbo). Passed Linx @ 50 Iterations at 1.328V Load/1.344V Idle with QPI : 1.335V. Temperatures are too high though 81 C

    Its 5-7C more that 205x19 = 3.89Ghz.

Awesome! Those temps are fine. You simply need at least water cooling to get an i7 to 'good' temp ranges at 4.0ghz and beyond. I'm pretty happy with 3.8ghz on air right now but it's hitting high 70s in a warm room already. My WC planning has already begun..

    Batch 3839A606.

4.0 @ 1.325V. Prime95 blend stable for 6+ hours. First attempt was at 1.2000v (prime95 reboot). Second attempt (successful) was at 1.325v. Plenty of room to work. Will keep my fingers crossed for 4.2Ghz+...

OK, now I'm really wishing I had spent more time on 4.0ghz testing when it was super cold with the board running in the motherboard tray sitting on the table. I got 4.2ghz (LinX) stable at 1.408v load in the best possible conditions I can get on air at my house barring a natural disaster. I must try 1.325....

Seems to be YMMV overall, but 3836A and 3841A seems to be most often doing well. My i7 920 3841A does stock voltage and stock cooling comfortably at 3.6Ghz. Some 3841A's don't fare as well, some better. There is no real "absolute best, hands down" batch yet, too much fluctuation per batch.

If you are looking for 3.8 Ghz on low voltages then 3841A is an Excellent Batch. But if your primary target is 4 Ghz+ on low voltage, you may want to look onto some other batch.

    My I7 #3841A431 @ 3.8 Ghz (19x200) @ 1.2V; QPI : 1.275V; HT ON. Its prime and linx stable. Temperatures on air @ 25C room temperature.

If I have read good, I need to sell my 920 batch #3838A*** now ? box is not open for the moment.

    I would hit ~4.2-4.4GHz minimum.

    Hey guys,

today I've picked up a part of my new system and also I've received my CPU.

    It's a 3841A628 but when I search this thread I can't find matches

Anyone got news for me? Thanks!

You have a very nice Batch to do 4 Ghz on 1.3125V.

I don't know if its the 3x1Gb ram on 32bit system helping you to run stable on such low voltages.

Yes, very good news indeed! I too have a 3841A chip, and it runs really nicely. Stock voltage and cooling takes me up to 3.6Ghz without a sweat. But it does seem this batch is hit or miss, some like me report decent results, while others get not so decent results. In fact, my chip was only 123 chips in front of yours on the assembly line from this same batch, a 3841A505

furthermore to my last post stating my mobo, here is my latest stable config. havent tried any higher with the new BIOS, also a 3dmark run with cards at default clocks and a couple of programs running at this clock.

Wow! I just checked the OP again, and the chart was posted with all the OC's in this thread.

Dang Guys, look at all the 4GHz OC's on these things. That is outstanding!

I'll be updating mine in a few days to a week. I'm gonna start working on fitting my watercooling stuff, and my i7 rig will be down for a few days. After that i need to do some testing and bench runs and see if I can tweak it a bit more, and then I'll post what i have on water and the temps. It's gonna be much better than the stock cooling I was using.
