    hmm, you're doing this in dos mode right? Also, could be environment, I don't know if this'll work on compressed drives or not. There are other alternatives, albeit dangerous methods.

    I don't think you can compress the drive. Format the USB stick and start from scratch, make it bootable. follow steps from there.
