The ram they use is rated at 1000 MHz (2000 MHz effective), so it should get to that speed ok. One consolation: OCing the ram does not gain a bunch or performance. It's the core clock that makes the big diff.

Sorry to bug you on that quote, but I have to do this. It is not true both core and ram bottleneck cuz of the hardware past 900 mhz core you won't see any improvement if you can give enought power to maintain it and the memory will bottleneck at 1100 mhz due to the maximum timing and power the hardware can handle and I also heard that these Qimonda on 24/7 will get permanent damage eventually. Today's GFX card are bottleneck due too memory speed there is also the mobo chipset involve, but not as much as GDDR memory . Why do you think nvidia's next move is to go GDDR5 on a gtx 2xx that they will call GTX 3?? or whatever by the end of 2009 and/or beginning of 2010. Thought that what you said used to be very true , but certainly not these days.
