    Interesting.

Or maybe it is Intel's new weapon against AMD's upcoming Propus and Rana?

Well, when intel eoled the Q9450 they introduced the Q9300 and the Q9400, now they have axed the Q9300 and put everything down one notch price wise.

Q9550 is looking real nice too but geesh, that was a a very large cut on the Q9650. It now has a similar price that the Q9550 had last week.

    INTEL core 2 quad q9650 (BX80569Q9650) 3.0ghz em64t quad core w/12mb cache 45nm 1333mhz lga775-pin retail boxed w/cooling fan (3 years warranty) (*While Supplies Last!) $329.00

Just last week Q9550 was still selling for about $319 and many had the Q9650 for a little over $500. As one poster said that 9650 becomes a nice option

Do you think these price drops and the q9450 being eol will effect binning? Is there any difference between the q9550 and q9650 other than a half multi? Should I expect the same max fsb on either chip?

Too close to move up for me, but I have no problem with anyone thinking otherwise! I think the difference are 166MHz and unlocked multiplier(?)

The q9400 kinda replaced both the q9300 and q9450 in the lineup.
