    ya looks like it.

In the words of AMD: “you can just as well leave ACC off for Phenom II OC testing. Since, the "go-fast" things we learned from ACC (and those CPU parameter adjustments) were factored into 45nm, the benefit unlocked previously by ACC in 65nm silicon is already being realized without having to use the ACC feature separately.”

Is anyone else getting high nb temps? I am, I'm planning on getting the Thermalright Hr-05 Sli / Ifx tomorow, will post whither it fits or not (specs say it should, but still I'm worried) as well as pictures. Could anyone that's using that or any other type of aftermarket cooling post? Choice .

I ran a test with NB at stock speed and volts - only upped the 940 BE multi to 17.5. NB according to SmartGuardian was 66c and CPU was 49c.

I really want to watercool my NB (I have the PWM/NB heatpipe which can take a WB on NB in place of passive cooler) but cannot find one that fits, so I have the Akasa AK-210 40cm fan HS which I will try.

Ok, so installed the HR-05 Sli/IFX and it fit, but only just and in only one position (facing towards the exhaust fan).

Interesting reading the last couple of posts, especially regarding the NB/PWM temps....i noticed with my 790fx-m2r that the temps on the north/PWM were way high while clocking the Phenom 940's i have, really spiking, like up to 85*c, actually burn hot to the 'fingertip' test....back the clock down, shutdown, added a fan right over the scorching hot areas, gots the temps under control, then started again....

prior to the Phenom II going in the rig, i never had problems with this particular area of the board going wacko using 6400+'s....

now I am beginning to wonder if the board is going to fry itself to death PWM wise????....

    laterzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.............................. .

dont think so. digital pwms can get quite hot. i'd say under 100°C its no problem. and it was like that with p1 too...

actually, i did not ever hear about a fried m2r, as it has a really powerful pwm section. i ran a p1 with 3,53ghz 1,58v on this board, it stood there all the way whilst the psu wrecked and the power meter read about 480w

    Completely forgot about this thread

Did anyone notice any difference yet between the UT 790FX-M2R and DK 790FXB-M2RS(H) regarding PhII OCíng? Or am I the only one having both boards right now

I'd like to test but I dont feel like re-installing everything again so

PS, although my case has this slide-able motherboard try, I couldnt use that because of the IFX-14 and IFX-10 heat sinks, so it's a bit of a disaster to just swap things around

Heh, did you just bump the Vcore high or do you really need to be that high for stability? Cause that's quite high, could be me

Im at '+0.150V' and thus far stable at 3.705Ghz

Been thinking about watercooling often, with PhII I actually start to think it might become worth it though

i need it that high, i have a "crappy" 0849 ... and 920... and i'm on vista 64.. but its no problem. its rocking stable and no more then 45°C

btw, 142w idle thanks to k10stat

i dunno anything about how the boards compare.. i think they're pretty the same. i believe the cpu's do more on oc then the boards with phenom II.. ok unless you own complete crap xD

hehe and if you want my opinion: watercooling is absolutely worth it use my set-up for two and a half years now (except board set). never did a better investment in hw

    yeh

@ rammsteiner: oddly my chip needs 1,475v for 3,5gig stable... so 3,64gig at 1,5v is kinda sweet spot to me. 3,7 i cannot get stable even with 1,6v...

Looks like i will be Buying an MR2 again for Phen2 as there is no other mobo with the same PCI-E layout & power section.
I will be water cooling the PMW/SB & maybe the NB as i have found some EK water blocks that should fit.

But Ive a 0849 as well though, and high HTT's ain't really a problem (not for me though). 300HTT without any issues, could prolly go higher but there's no point for me doing that. Somehow I cant get the RAM at DDR667

Any idea though if your CPU is really the problem or a lack of HTT range?

M2R got me tempted again as well, PWM section is quite good. However Gigabyte's newest mobo's seem very nice as well. Also I might consider an nForce board so Ive full upgradabilities (is that even a word) for future GPU's. But, not before AM3 and if the DDR3 jump really justifies it. I really hated going from DDR to DDR2, so do I hate DDR3. DDR was just so... easy and nice, everything that counted was tCL 2, 2.5 and 3, DDR3 is even at tCL10. It makes it look so... stupid, although I know it's a lot faster, it's just... meh, out of my roots
