It will be your task. I only try to give you some ideas for it.

I think these data would be enough:

CPU Used (X4 920, X4 940, etc)
CPU Clock (3800MHz)
Vcore (1,375)
Full Stepping (AAAFB AA 0840BPMW)
Cooling (Air, H2O, DICE, etc.)
Windows Version (32bit/64bit)
Is it Prime stable? (Y/N)

...and a CPU-Z validation

I would still add room for nb and ht link clocks since everything gets seperate clocks now. Maybe there could be a seperate list for highest average clock since we can clock each core seperately. I think too much...

It would be nice to have a thread on here, but I'm sure it would be a hassle for whoever had to keep up with it.

Personally I always liked this site for looking up OC'in info.

I've posted some stuff up on amdgeeks, more than a few steppings, and I was the first person to tell them about the Barcelona AM2+ quads. Back when x2's were popular I feel it was a much better site, but with the advent of phenoms almost no information gets posted there. Its a shame though because the site has an amazing format for holding all the data.

I'll set up the thread tomorrow or monday.

yea i saw that maybe if the thread was a sticky or something it would work better because once its off the first page no one posts anymore. i can't even find it any more with a forum search.

would be nice and maybe clean up the old stickies. there are 3 X2 overclocking stickies and it doesn't appear like people care about the tlb fix one anymore.

Can some one with phenom II 940/920 post a untweaked ( XP OS ) single 4870 512mb 815/925 or asus top bios with cpu @ 3.6g for me in 3d06. Would like to compare it to my intel results.

You can tweak the hardware to the max, in fact i'd prefer it tweaked and not just a multi OC, just not the OS. I'm using 5-5-5-12 540 ( 1080 )

Could UK peeps please post the stepping you are getting and the retailer. Chew, I keeps seeing you mention that the lower the batch number the better the chance for a good overclocker.

Back in the day, there was alot of discussion about this and the impression that I got was tht low batch number was NOT important. What was more important was the stepping.

Some steppings have historically shown to be good overclockers, the x-x-AW usually are good also x-x-MW showed good pedigree. If I remember correctly the third letter was to do with the marking of the wafer i.e. A is better than B. The reason M is good is that the marking does not go from A-Z, but something like A-B-C-M.

I may be completely off with this, but there is a thread here at XS which discusses this in depth, probably dated around 2005-2006

Ok, I have found that tidbit of information that was bouncing around in my head, lol

First Digit is either R through to X for Monday to Sunday or A through to G for same. M means mixed assembly lot.
P merely means Penang
3rd digit is the sequential batch of cores used in assembly - so if they are using the first batch for that day its an A second batch is B and so forth. M means the cores used in the assembly came from different batches.
The existence of a W for the 4th letter means mixing of wafer lots in the core fabrication was prohibited. Its absence means the wafer lots could be mixed when making a batch of cores.
0450 etc is self explanatory and is the week of assembly.

Yeah with only 1.4v @ max....(or even stock) Put some juice and u will see some 3.8+...

Well i've been working all night long on this thing, It's hard adjusting to learn how to OC a Phenom. I've tried as hard as I can to hit 4ghz with it on my Lapped True Black 120 Dual S-flex setup. It's an incredibly fast system! I can get it in at 3.9 but 4.0 is simply a no go, i've even tried a run at 1.6v (was idling about 40c) I'm sure I can get better with it by learning how to mess with the north bridge and such.

THe one thing that's seriously bothering me is the fact that I can't run Dual Channel. The true sits too low and my Corsair Dominators are just too tall I'm going to shut it off for the night and let the poor thing rest. enjoy!

because AOD is stupid, dont trust it one bit, use bios and CPU-Z as you have allready done, and as you can see, it doesnt get your vcore correct either
