Part of me wants to step up to a 295 once the prices lower a wee bit.

The other part says, "remember the 3870X2, remember all those driver issues and scaling problems? Are you out of your mind!"

I hear ya Sly Fox. I have a couple dual gpu cards for benching, can't beat those, but use a single g92 card with silent fan for work and gaming. I had to jump at the 295, can't wait to put that thing to work.

Would you guys consider a good move going from 2 8800GTXs to a single GTX 295 ?

I really wish it would be possible to SLI up the 285 with the 280. I don't see myself going out to buy 2 285s just to go SLI when I already own a 280. Guess this means getting a second 280!

Dont forget that they rarely lower the MSRP once its been set, even though yesterday and today were weird days i regards to that...

Yeah it depends on your res. Honestly though there really that many games that would be better off. I'd imagine your SLI could play all bar one fine at high res'.

1920x1200. Those 2 cards can't handle recent games at that res with enough AA and AF for my likings. I always needed more power in Crysis and Crysis Warhead. So do i for Far Cry 2 - GTA 4 - S.T.A.L.K.E.R Clear Sky Etc...

    But thanks for the replies!

Couple of prices out for 285 in New Zealand. Half it for US prices basically (that's not exchange, just how it ends up) http://pricespy.co.nz/pno_14729.html.
