Trouble updating BloodRage bios to G13

I am trying to update using bootable usb stick before installing windows. I edited the autoexec file to: AWDFLASH 8A1F1G13.Bin/py/sn/Wb/cd/cc/cp/ch using 8.83 version of awdflash. It's not working like updating bios on BlackOps. All i had to do was put the bin file and flashtool with the edited autoexec files on the bootable stick and boot from the stick. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the reply. That didn't work for me. I edidted the autoexec file wth:

AWDFLASH 8A1F1G13.bin /wb /cks /cd /cp /cc /ch as you have above and I get a dos command screen instead of the bios flash screen I was expecting. Should i leave the autoexec file off the usb stick and enter these commands on the dos screen? I don't know squat about dos!

    Hey mate.
Here's how I flashed my board using my USB Flash Disk Drive:

    1) Download the SFX Installer containing a Windows 98SE Boot Disk Image & the HP USB Storage Format Tool from here ( Click me! )

    2) Run the HPtoolWIN98image.exe and press the Install button.

    3) After the extraction process the SFX Installer will automatically launch the setup program for the HP USB Storage Format tool.
Continue the installation via the setup wizard as usual.

    4) Plug in your USB Flash Disk Drive, and open up HP's USB Storage Format tool.
Select your USB Drive at the "Device" drop-down menu.
Set the File System to FAT32.
    Give your volume a label ( e.g. FLASH )
    In the format options field:
    tick the "Quick Format" option
tick the Create a DOS startup disk and select the "using DOS system files located at" option and press the "..." button ( Browse ) and set it ( select ) to point at C:\Temp\Windows 98SE Boot Disk directory

Finally press the "Start" button and wait for the format process to finish.
When done, close the HP USB Storage Format tool by pressing the... close button

    5) Now open the flash drive @ My Computer and copy and paste the BIOS File ( 8A1F1G13 ) and the awdflash.exe file that I'm going to link as well.

    download awdflash.exe ( click me! )

    6) Now restart the PC and boot from your USB Drive.

At the command prompt type the following command:

    awdflash 8A1F1G13.BIN /py /sn /Wb /cd /cc /cp /ch /H2

    and press enter.
Give it some time, it will load the AWDflash utility, and automatically input the commands.

Let me know how it went

Edit: Updated the AWDflash version to 8.92, please re-download awdflash.exe

Well, the flash utility loads ok but the flashing message at the bottom of the box says: Please input file name! I let it go for several minutes and tried again with the same result. The "file name to program :" box in the middle of the screen shows 8a1f1g13.bin_ .
    What now?

Gimme 5 minutes or so to finish some measurements and I'll check it out again on my board to make sure I didn't miss something

None of the above has worked all the way for me yet. I get either "source file not found" or "do you want to save bios Y/N" but no input from me goes any further, it just stops right there.

It works fine for me buddy.
Are you sure you're typing the command exactly as I posted it ? ( lower case & upper case correct )

    Edit:

The first error sounds like a bad filename input or a truly missing site
I hope you didn't forget to extract the contents ( the 8A1F1G13.BIN ) from the rar file.

The do you want to save BIOS... blah blah indicates that the program DID NOT accept the /sn switch ( the /sn switch tells AWDflash to not ask if you want to save the BIOS to a file ).

Where did you download the BIOS from ?
If it's from my site ( BenchZone ) then there's a chance you didn't notice ( and I just noticed ) that the file is named BloodRageG13.bin instead of 8A1F1G13.BIN
Hope it wasn't that because it's going to be a sad story for ya ( just kidding )

If the filenames are correct, then try flashing with this command:

    awdflash 8A1F1G13.BIN /py /Wb /ch

I have done many bios flashes in the past with a bootable usb stick on several different brand boards but I can not figure this one out. I have switched sticks, re-formatted, re-downloaded, tried all the switches offered here and still get source file not found. I have repeated all of these steps 10 times! I flashed the bios on my DFI x58 using an edited autoexec file and usb stick on the first shot. I wonder if I need to set the bios jumper across 7 and 8 and see if i can flash the other chip.

That has to be it! I was using the BloodRageG13.BIN at first but with a bad switch. I have been committing comp suicide with the 8A1F1... ever since. Stay tuned and THANKS!

Haha, sorry for not sending you at the right direction in the first place.
I was kinda... blown away from today's testing.

At least everything's ok for you now.
On the other side, I seem to have a slight problem... my secondary BIOS chip is now failing ROFL

And now let the fun begin. I went directly to G15 and your commands worked perfectly. I'm running a 920 (3841A385) and I'm testing dimm's from G Skill, CSX and CellShock on Vista 32bit. My intention is to compare bandwidth using the same proc and dimms to my DFI board.

Watch out as G15 has some nasty bugs.
Check the BloodRage BIOS Issues/Bugs thread in the Foxconn "Suggestion Box" forums section here.

AS Bill said, you're far better off on G13, G15 needs work and is pretty much an alpha state BIOS. By the way I've flashed BIOS several times by using the Foxconn OS utility, no blips so far. I know Sascha pretty much does the same too..

i use the usb flash a lot too, it worked fine for me all the time...
so the problem was that you rename the bin file but the bat file was still looking for the 839d etc file, right?

Yes, that is correct. I kept using the BloodRageG15 file with the 8A1F1... command. I need to get more sleep!

I am testing G15 now and will try G13 as well. Thanks!
