Remember the 9800GX2? Nvidia's dual-PCB flagship card for....3 months? Well, it was released on March 18 ,2008 and succeeded by single GPU GeForce GTX 280 on June 17th.

I'm not saying the GTX 295 will be entirely outdated come Q2 (as the 9800GX2 still does better than the GTX 280 at higher resolutions), but according to Nvidia's product lineup, I doubt it will last very long. Besides, Nvidia has to follow TSMC's fabrication production timeline, and 40nm is inching up very soon.
