*Unofficial XFX MB-X58I-CH19 thread - a board that requires a little mod. to shine??

I got the board few days ago and I did a little mod. ...

The QPI can fly up quite high now, I will try to investigate deeper into it to see if I can get it higher before I will finally post up my conclusions together with the mod. guide.

I managed to do 220 BCLK but the 450W PSU was just too weak to support the core i7 CPU,
all the cables went very hot as if they were going to melt!

Right now I am waiting a 1000W PSU to arrive and replace this old stuff... don't want my CPU to get burnt...
    ES shouldn't have any warranty...

I don't want to post misleading information, or a wrong guide, before I confirmed by myself that it works.

    please understand my concern...

The slots, 3-Way SLI capable @ x16-8-8, good spacing

The PCIe chips for turning x16 to x8?? (P)

The Clockgen chip, I don't know what is it... IDT xxxxxxxxx

One of the ICs for overclocking?? The CPU power IC I found is Intersil 6336, I don't know is it good or not but somebody here should do.

6 RAM slots, not 3, not 4, sorry for my bad picture...

Lovely Power On and Reset buttons, 2 BIOS chips

SATA and IDE ports, my camera's problem, not the board bended

The I/O Panel, all I need are there...actually...more than I need...

Two Gigabit LANs, Marvell, I love it

The Audio chip, hope they will further upgrade it soon, 888 is ok but I know there is something better

nvidia designed the board i am guessing, foxconn made it, and is being distributed by XFX.

I found the information from Intersil!

The ISL6336, ISL6336A is compliant with Intel’s VR11.1 specification. Features include a pin (IMON) for current monitoring and a Power State Indicator (PSI#) input pin to initiate a proprietary phase dropping and diode emulation scheme for higher efficiency at light load by dropping to 1- or 2-phase operation with optional diode emulation (ISL6336) to reduce switching and core losses in the converter. After the PSI# signal is de-asserted, the dropped phase(s) are added back to sustain heavy load transient and efficiency.

actually i think that its a dfi design like what evga has been doing with there digitals. it looks just like the DK from the SB up then some stuff moved on the bottom and esata

I am not an expert so I won't comment about the design.
So far I am satisfied with the board.

Do you mean the position of the floppy port?
If yes I agree with you then.

Because other parts are just so similar that I can't tell the differences.

I just noticed that the eSATA of EVGA's needs a cable, XFX's eSATAs don't need.
EVGA's got 2 more USB at the back while XFX's got one more eSATA and they don't require a cable to work.
