Winbond 5ns and BD7-II/IT7 owners - show me the OC

I'm getting a 512MB Winbond 5ns PC3200 as it is a lot cheaper than Corsair XMS3200C2 (6ns stuff pfffttt) and probably OC better. Gonna use it on my BD7-II. If you have Winbond, show me your OC, timings and Vdimm, thanks a bunch

Hmm..the 5NS don't OC higher than the 6NS rev B chips (which comes on the XMS3200C2).

    I'm now at 163mhz FSB with 3:4 (mem-218), Vmem- 2.8V, 2-7-3-2.

    Wanna bet?

Cant post benches atm as my games pc is set up for 3dmark and not even on :p.

    Anyway...

    3rd party (Apacer) PCB winbond 5ns 256mb @ 2.95v actual

173mhz 3:4 divider for 230 odd mhz. Timings 2/7/3/2/Enhance on for a sandra bench of 1850/1863. All this at only 2950mhz (2.26b). The above setting is 100% stable. I can 3dmark at 175mhz for about an hour, and 177mhz for one run, but it usually eats windows (thank god for norton ghost :p). 177mhz 3:4 at above timings gives me 1910/1923 in unbuffered sandra.

If you can find the Twinmos PC3200 with winbond chips (and not samsung) itll knock the pants off any of this corsair crap. Its the proverbial diamond in a coalfield though. At the 2.65v actual youll get from the BD7 you should be looking at about 233mhz with lowest timings. This stuff will do 200mhz 2/5/2/2/Enhance @ 2.5v after a week or 2 serious burn in.

My Corsair XMS3000 512meg stick lets me bench 3dmark at 171/228 @ 2-7-3-3 Enhance on @ 2.88 volts. Cant get any higher vdimm so dont know if the ram will go higher... Sandra runs same stick at 176/234 2.5-7-3-3 Enhance off.

If you guys get those Winbond 5ns 512meg sticks up to around the 240 mark then Ill be very very tempted to get one....

Should have taken the TwinMOS Linh. Half the modules to deal with, and with twice the amount of memory, its basically a slower clocked module.

Hi PiLsY i can confirm your findings exactly Twinmos with Winbond chips 2.8v cas2/7/3/2 @ 175fsb 3:4 on my IT7.
This is day 1 win this stick and plenty of burning to do yet hoping for 180fsb 3:4 stable @ cas2/7/3/2 im not too happy giving it more voltage just yet as i killed a stick of cheap Winbond with only 2.9v

Thatd be about in line Toofast. Im expecting around 3 - 5 mhz more from Twinmos before burn in. Whered you get it from btw?

Get some tweakmonster tin plated ramsinks on it m8. No worries about voltage or heat then. DIdnt give me any extra mhz with the winbond, but did allow me to drop voltage from 2.95v actual to 2.83v actual.

PiLsY and toofast: Do you huys know where in europe I could get myself 2x 256MB sticks of this memory (TwinMOS PC3200)? microland.co.uk don't ship outside the UK so looking for a shop that accepts creditcards and ships to adresses inside the EU.

Creative ....We have almost the same CPU(the 2,26GHz I had before this one)and we have almost the same working "everyday" frequency use....Well next week I'll put it on my Prometeia and I'll keep you informed how it did.....

With Vmem 3,2Volts it can do 249MHz(498MHz DDR) at Cas 2,5 - 3 - 3 - 7.....In your accually 3.05Vmem can do 245MHz(490MHz DDR).......I have passed of all the "stages" of memory voltages till know and still trying.....!!!!

    HiPro5,

I have yet to see ANYBODY who can duplicate your results.

Until I do itll remain a "freak incidence".

The corsair C2 3500 I tried was frankly pants (and im talking 5 sticks, diff date chips and from different sources here) and NONE of it went over 226mhz ddr at 2.5/7/3/3/Enhance off.

The P4B533-E is, im hearing, the best board out at the moment for pure memory bandwidth. This still doesnt validate the frankly amazing clock youre getting from that memory stick. When I see more people managing it m8 then ill change to corsair in a shot. until then though im happy with my winbond 5ns.

Thanks for your logical explanation PiLsY...I gess I'm a lucky guy though.....But my friends TASOS 512Mb Corsair XMS3000 C2 could do 239MHz(478MHz DDR) at Cas 2-3-3-7 T2.....He is a lucky guy too....
