They were about the same performance as the Redlines mate, but the Mushkins could handle 266 strap while the Gskills couldn't do that ( at first I thought it was my setttings but it was the ram) with the same timings...(meaning PL and Clock twister) Ram subtimings I always left on AUTO. I just set 5-5-5-15 TRFC 55 for both kits and 1.92Vdimm woked liek a charm on my both P5Q Dlx and E board

Both kits passed 1100mhz pretty easy without exuberant volts...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

The P5Q-Pro is the same in only having one x16 slot running at full x16 speeds. In fact all P45 boards are like this.
    Rig #1: DD Torture Rack * EVGA X58 SLI LE * i7 920@4.2GHz * Powercolor 5870 LCS * HT Omega Claro Plus+ * Corsair CMPSU-850TX * 6GB Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D * 160GB X25-M & 500GB Seagate *

    Rig #2: GigaByte H55N-USB3 * Intel i5 655K@4.5GHz * Colorpower 5670 Go Green * Antec TPQ-850 850 watt * 4GB G. Skill ECO F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO *

    Hello Again

I have a little trouble with the Board.

I made a lot of tests with several softwares to look for a stable system.

So far it was all ok. Runned Orthos a long time in Priority 9 and Intel Burn Test with 15 Passes without error.
I made a long test with prime95 too and Memtest86 to have a look for errors but it was all ok.

Now when i start Games, randomly, the system freezes the picture stops and i hear only stuttering audio and nothing helps only by pushing the reboot button i can restart the system, this can happen after 5min of game or 1 hour random.

Does anyone expect the same problem with the Board, stable tests and when gaming the system hangs ?

    My config is
    P5Q Deluxe
    G.Skill F2 8500 1066Mhz @ 1080Mhz same problem a 900Mhz 5.5.5.15
Intel E8400 Cooled By Noctua NH-U12P
    NVidia GTX260 POV

With FSB 400 for CPU and 1066Mhz Ram i didn't expect it right now but i am still testing.

The same problem i have expected on Maximus 2 Formula with the same hardware.

What can be the problem ?

    Anyone help me please.

Whenever I have had that problem, it was either ram voltage or NB voltage.

Which games are we talking about ? have you enabled Vsync for these games and locked PCI express frequency at 100 or 101 ?

Board desing it is not, as 500FSB daily is really nothing. Either you got a bad or unlucky board or something else is terribly wrong... did you already fill in a template ? and plz list all of ya hardware... 4ghz with a wolfdale should be absolutely no problem

    GTA IV,Crysis Warehead,Race Driver Greed.
No,Vsync is deactivated in Games and the Pci Express Frequency is Fixed to 101Mhz.

The curious thing is that it happens an 2 Boards With P45 Chipset.

I do not esxpect a Memory problem cause the tests are 100% ok.
It happens when i go in 3D with games only.
Can it be the Pocessor ? Maybe unlucky one ?
My PSU is a Tagan 700W i tryed another Tagan 700W too, same prob.

I have a pair of Crucial Ballistix Tracer Pc6400 2x2Gb that arrived today, what do you think about them for this Board compared to My G.Skill's ?

Well we and others have experienced this too on other P45 platforms. For me to get my games stable I just had to activate Vsync in the games that locked my Pc (IBT, Prime whatever you name it, it was stable) just not in GTR2, enabling Vsync saved my day...
This is the first time in years of pc usage that I needed to enable Vsync... try it and report back plz

I had a very similar problem when I upraded to 8gb of ram. I would get odd stuttering in games. I was Memtest 86+ and 3.8 stable, Prime 16+ hours stable. The only test that I could get to fail was IBT, but it took like 20 runs. When I poped in the new kit alone the stuttering got a bit worse but I still wouldnt fail any tests other than IBT. Im running fine right now with my old 2x2gb kit after a format.

I tested GTAIV and with Vsync i encountered the same problem, it freezed again same with Race Driver Grid and Crysis Warhead.

My operating system is Vista Home Premium 64Bit.

Run furmark and monitor the temps of the GPU ( via everest home eg ) ,does it do the same when running no OC ? you could try the other rams too ofcourse... but it's weird you experienced this on the maximus formula 2 too...

I run HCI memtest in windows, memtest via Dos doesn't always find errors with 2GB dimms... and prime what did you run ? small FFT , blend ? for how long ? IBT is nice as a final stress test but is not that good in finding ram errors either...

last queston did you reinstall the OS after the mobo swap ?

The GPU temp is monitored all the time when i play and the temp is about 50°C with the fan @60%. No when i am out of OC the system runs stable.
Yes i installed the OS 3-4 times now while testing and changing hardware.
I had run memtest86 via dos several time with no errors.
When i launch HCI memtest from windows the system slows a lot down and HCI memtest is trying to fill my swap file and did not work, for this i wrote to HCI for further information.

The same hardware i a m using was tested on a Commando Board and it runs stable 4ghz 24/24.

I am going to try the Crucial Ram now.

    CPU Margin Enhancement: OPTIMIZED

and the CPU menu it is all disabled
I really have no idea what I'm doing wrong... CPU is cooled with TRUE 120 and Scythe fan. Temps are fine even with 1.4 Volts.

    Rest of the system...

    2x2 Gig Corsair 4GB (KIT) DDR2 1066MHz, XMS2-8500
    750 W Corsair PSU.
    Antec 1200 Case
    2 SATA HD (not raid)
    8800 GTS 512 MB
    IDE DVD burner
    Vista Ultimate 64

I'm testing with Orthos for stability and the poor thing is failing. 4 gig is no go sadly. Tried lowering multi but still 4Gig is impossible to pass. RAM passes memtest in every possible way up to 1000 FSB haven't tried higher. No idea what to do and what to try. Latest drivers and BIOS ofc
