Yes, I know someone else is running their 8800 Ultras in SLI as well on the board.

Very surprising, I was honestly certain that NVIDIA had locked out legacy products to squeeze a buck.

IF someone has managed to do so, please let me know your qpi and vdimm settings that you are using.

This is what it says in the manual, "Due to Intel spec definition, X.M.P. DIMMs and DDR3-1600 are supported for one DIMM per channel only."

Not sure if that is related to why I cant run 1600 with all slots populated.

I am using 1.66vdimm and QPI volts set to 1.35

My original ram was samsung ddr3 also, and they too would not boot in any configuration.
Do they work with the latest BIOS though?

I have the setup working fine now, once I installed the G. SKILL RAM everything booted up. Only problem now is that I can't figure out how to enable SLI, but that's another story.

For anyone that is running SLI on P6T, did everything work fine for you installing the cards in PCI-E x16 #1 & #2? SLI isn't working and also the second card is showing up as PCI-E 1.0 in GPU-Z and nVidia CP for whatever reason - the first one properly shows up as PCI-E 2.0 x16.

    Hi all...

Can somebody tell me what is the safest QPI volt for a daily use?
And did everyone notice, setting the Cpu/Qpi/Dram volt to auto make the board decide on it's on and raise itself? or it just me and my board?
I try Marvel SAS Raid with my Raptor and the performance seem to be degrade, or i should use a real SAS drive maybe.

btw, it seems the P6T vanilla support 3way sli...and the deluxe do not .... can anyone confirm?
On XP with no tweaking at all. He couldn't get SLI working on Vista, but maybe someone could with tweaking.

At first glance I see only two changes. One is the name and the other is the chip in the lower left. I believe it's the Marvell controller. A review of the specifications shows that V2 doesn't have SAS. What else did they change?

920 @ 4ghz is easy for almost anyone. 190x21 (turbo on) 200x21 is where it gets tricky, and you will need to raise voltages and tweak. I dont think R2E or Palm edition is any better than a normal P6T Deluxe with this.

However, did you check out some other threads about the ASUS problem? Whenever the CPU draws too much power/current it throttles back the turbo multiplier. This is not because of high temps, but a simple feature that the ASUS mobo's currently do not have. On other motherboards this can be disabled.

Guys, just an FYI about this board.

You cannot run RAID on the Intel ICH10R and concurrently run ANY OTHER RAID (either on the Marvell SAS or any other add-in controller).

This is a BIOS bug, and with ASUS there is no telling when it will be fixed.

You guys that are running 4ghz, try using multiplier of 19 x 210, and you can probably drop your vcore down about .05 - .1.

I dont know if its just me, but it takes me around 1.375vcore to run 200x20 stable, but 1.275 to run 211x19 stable. LinX 20 loop stable, with 12 gigs takes about 30 mins a run.

I´ve been testing this mobo and found out this about C-STATE:

    System: Asus P6T Dlx - i7 920@3700Mhz 1.16v - 3GB GSkill@1560Mhz 9-8-8-21 / CPU is Watercooled

    C-STATE OFF

    C-STATE ON [AUTO]

    C-STATE Conclusions:

    ON:
Larger memory bandwith but less L3 Cache
    Less Power consumption
CPU is cooler about 3º Celsious
Less CPU performance in some aplications. in video encoding the performance is the same.

Tested with Tomb Raider and the FPS are equal with our without C-STATE

Hey guys .. does anyone know if there is a Northbridge temperature sensor on the P6T Deluxe ?

I noticed Everest shows a 'motherboard' temperature - but what is this ?

Basically wanna know if I'm frying my NB running the voltages I am ..

    Nice find!!

I was comparing some bench results of my own, I also used the same Everest memory bench. And I had to same differences. Lower DDR3 bandwith / higher L3 cache...

I couldn't find out what caused it (I tested at same clock speeds) It was driving me crazy!! But now im very glad I know what it is. Thnx!

Maybe when clocking higher than 4.2 and the multiplier begins to throttle etc, this could help.

Looking at the stats, it can support Triple-channel DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1866(O.C.)/1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 Memory while the older one officialy set to 1600 (O.C.)

I liked the old one the best, am having two cheetah SAS drives, so them SAS collectors are needed.

    Brilliant find nocturno !!!! U = genius

I too was wondering why the hell my L3 Cache was so much slower than other similar benchies .. havent tested yet but I'm sure this will be it ..

I noticed your m/b temps there are 41C .. you got any cooling on the Northbridge ?? That little ASUS sidefan thing ?

I was getting mid-30's Idle .. but its gone up 2-3C since I put dust filters on the HAF intake fans ..

    OK Confirmed !

    C-State On

    C-State Off

I also went a little further and tested with various C-State limits

    C-State C6 Limit
    As above 'C-State On'

    C-State C3 Limit

    C-State C1 Limit

    C-State C1E Limit

So basically this proves its the actual C6 State (lowest power) is causing the hit to L3 Cache speed .. interestingly while the CPU is in C6 the L3 Cache is the only thing left *on* .. see here ..

    http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...tecture-dive/3

Either way its obviously got something to do with it ..

I have no clue tho about the strange memory speed variations .. max with C-State On .. min with C-State Off or C3 limit .. moderate with C1 or C1E limit On

Ran some other benchmarks but CPU scores didnt seem to change much .. so I'm still sticking with C-State On full and enjoy those nice chilly Idles
