Hello RASTAVIPER, no VGA overclocking for this rig, just trying to hit high CPU clocks. What voltage were you using for your 3.7+ ghz validation?

    Ive just run off a superPI 1M @ 3600mhz using 1.585v CPU-VID, and 1.550v CPU-NB VID

Now I want to push higher, but dont know how to increase the CPU-NB VID on this DFI 790FXB-M2RSH, got it set to 00 in bios, AOD gives no options to increasing this past 1.45v

Going to see how high I can get a validation

Also got a problem using AOD to increase the HTT speed, even when not overclocking if I increase the HTT by 1mhz it results in a hardlock. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening, as without HTT adjustments in windows am a little stuck at tweaking ..........

    Aggghhhhhh need more NB-VID!!

    http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=470418

Increasing CPU-VID not helping me break 3.7Ghz, will keep trying

set the ht and nb in the bios to 200x12, set the cpu to the higest oc you can get it to boot into windows (eg;200x17.5....3.5ghz) then start ocing through aod in windows for that last few mhz...use version 2.1.4 of AOD. I have no problem moving the Ht.ref clock in aod like this.

I want those results Nice Guys,

By toasting I mean a short on the 12V (4 or 8 pin connector) near Mosfets
I have RMA'd it for the 2nd time, waiting for 3rd mobo to come. (Hopefully this year)

I was at 1,45v Vcore air cooled my bracket for h2o is still under construction.
    NB about 1,5v
    vdimm 2,5 (Liquid cooled)

That was the end of it.
Nothing broke but the mobo. (ALL other components tested).

    Maybe you guys can help?

    Thanks

See if you can make toast with another PSU Two mobos with 4/8pin problem something other than Mobo is cooking.. 1 bad // or buggy PSU can Over volt a mobo easy.

Ive pumped the ASUS with enuff Volts to make just about anyone feel uncomfortable and trust me the PWM's will fail before that 4/8pin.

You could even have a piece of hardware shorting and causing Mobo failure once it gets to a certain limit. Pull any extras out of the mobo( Use one PCi_e Video card instead of three and retest.)..Your PSU may be giving dirty supply once its stressed to its limit,, then wham instant "How too Smoke Cookin on yer WeberMobo southern style"

Almost any good 550+ PSU should do the trick if you don't have a power hungary GPU (you'll probably need a 600+ for yours). I'm a SETI cruncher so my vid cards are very low-powered.

Fortron is a good, mid-range PSU and prices go up from there. Here's a good place to see who makes what:

This last week I fried a MOSFET on a Biostar 790GX. Transferred everything over to an M3A78-T and it's running fine - OC testing 3.2 GHz as I type. The only thing bad with the first rig was the board. In the future I'm staying away from Biostar ...

After bios downgrade, upgrade then AOD uninstall, re-install I can use the HTT in AOD to change clockspeeds. However the changes it applies are not updated in AOD

Also changing MaximumVCore Enable to 1, simply lets me set NB-VID to the max value in bios, i.e. 1.550v. I need more!!!!

if you check cpuz its actually 1.6v , its what i used to hit 3.6ghz myself

You are luck my maxvalue in bios is 1.45v but when i did MaximumVCore Enable to 1 it went to 1.55v(cpuz 1.6v). but now i have lost high v in aod and they wont come back....so im stuck at 1.45v

    you go into C/program files/AMD/Overdrive/preferences

near the bottom xml document change from 0 to 1 will give higher v in aod.....it doesnt work for me anymore though.
