Hey Campbell,
i actually tried 12/01 official now, long overnight clear cmos, load optimal defaults, brandnew fresh install of vista64 business, installed network drivers and same thing.
Now I can confirm really that there's something wrong with this bios with respect to vista and network.
i see the network ports during bootup, they get an irq assigned and so they are not defective or disabled, but they are not recognized in windows.. same picture in hw manager as i posted already, many many cpu-pci-bridges but no network... really strange.
And i think i figured it out why the one guy has it working under vista: He does not have a phenom but a dualcore. Thus, there are not that many cpu-pci bridge devices and thus, his system has enough ressources for the marvell lan chips to be recognized correctly...
this MUST be fixed to provide full functionality when the new phenoms come out.... I planned to get one early january if they are not too expensive...
edit: ok it does not seem to be x2 vs x4 related.. some ppl with x2 do experience that problem also..
