How do you know so fast if the cold boot issue is still happening? With my board it takes 5 or 6 days (random) before i know

After updating the BOIS and while the computer is booting (shows cpu speed, sata drives etc) all I do it shut it down before windows starts to boot. Then I'll try to turn it back on, and poof... nothing. Then I verify this letting the computer boot up, once it's up I simply shut it down via the start menu. I have to admit though the rampage II extreme is consistent with not booting after it's shut down. Maybe it's an advanced feature.
