better than Agena and Kentsfield but Penryn is the winner yet.
penryn has 12mbs cache too many of those benches like cache

go try some MAYA rendering, and Hd encoding.

Hmm vew more memory details would be nice. Maybe rightmark multi cpu. I assume your timeframe does not allow installing ubuntu 8.10 and run the phoronix-test-suites universe serie.

    You bench on vista 64bit?

Well this is useless..........just an fyi here's my own personal 2gig ddr2 800 ram versus 4 gigs ddr2 800 ram run , Jeez I can find all kinds of things wrong here, 2 gigs with only 5-5-5-15......even my corsair vanilla xms can do 4-4-4-12 with only 2 slots used......It's obvious this is not an optimized setup......

592 mb ram for a 3d06 bench.........that seems wrong, ganged......try unganged. On a side note it's still 1500 point lead over my highest to date with 3.2g q6600/4870 with same asus clocks bios. Curious what clock would make them even.

    1000 pts difference anyone?

Hi OBR, can you do a comparison between the Core i7 920 and the Phenom II 940 as they seem to be priced very similar over here (here is The Netherlands)?

I'm especially interested in Cinebench xCPU x64, PovRay xCPU, 3DSMax x64 and Visual Studio x64.

I second the game bench request. Try Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, it's pretty hard on the CPU. If you can grab one of the crazy FFA replays on GameReplays, you wouldn't need to play the game, simply record the FPS and the Simulation Time vs Real Time.

    in vantage only 1750pt at 4Ghz ? Intel at 3.6Ghz do 1900pt
    in 3d mark only 5800/5900pt ? intel over 6200/6300pt
    and aquamark ? too slow
and cinebench ????? BIGGEST LOSER !!!!! and it's a monolitic die, but loser.

That was a mistake, I clipped the wrong benchmark. meant to clip 3d06 and only look close at how much ram was used........I might add i have little faith in synthetic tests. I want to see actual games benchmarks against platforms.

Game benchmark like crysis under multi-gpu.

    PII & i7 @4G using tri-sli gtx280 will be great.

LOL, nah, I created the account in 2006, but since that time I've not been doing much with overclocking PCs, recently I've 'rediscovered' the forum

bold statement to call something a loser cpu on a system that isn't even optimized at all and compare it to a ddr3 system which is fully optimized. if you notice the ram in those benchmarks is complete crap. my ram on stock settings is better than that. the cpu isn't tweaked at all along with the nb and everything. the only difference between the pics you posted and a stock phenom II is that the cpu multiplier is hiked up a bit to just overclock the core. i think you need to have a better understanding of things before posting a crappy system and the assuming based on benchmarks that aren't even official that the product is going to be a "loser cpu". i could same the same for i7 and actually be able to explain it but i am not going to go there.
