What is a solid method for being the edges of aluminum sheet metal. I need to bend back about 1cm of this aluminum sheet, pliers would make to many bends. Aluminum is 2mm thick, bulding a bracket ot lay the MobO flat
Thanks

I doubt you'll be able to bend it. We need a picture to give you a better idea/option.
Bending brake? 2mm is quite strong and it being 1cm to bend makes it a bit harder I think.
2mm? i think its too hard... try googling for break and you should find something

take to your local heat and air place. They will have a hand brake they can bend it for you relatively cheap and you'll get a more acuate clean looking bend.

1mm be easier?
Not sure where a local heat and iar place is actually
I think 1cm is too small to do yourself, even with a break. I would look into getting it professionally done.

Either that or bend more than 1cm and trim off excess would work just the same now that I think about it
How long of a bend is it? I have 4" & 6" hand breaks that I use for sheet metal and tin though 2mm is a bit thick for a 1cm bend. A couple vice grips and some flat steel stock and you might be able to make a hand break.
I have these sheet metal bending tools, one is ~12" and the other ~18" where you slip the sheet metal in this slot about up to an inch or so max before it bottoms out and then fold the metal. I got them from this tin knocker when he was installing the ducts in our home for the AC. I believe you can get the tool at any decent HVAC supplier.
I'll look into that, need ot make a dead wall in my case, turning into a hassle, Also can someone point me in the direction of a rivet gun and rivet remover tool
Ah thanks, I never knew that. Should make it alot easier now
Min bend on my brake is 1/2", but then again it's intended for much thinner Alu than what you're describing. In addition if you don't heat the panel before you bend it you will likely form tiny stress cracks at the bend point.
OCZ, where life-time warranty means until we're out of stock!
??? i had one 2mm before and i used a rubber hammer and create 90 degree angle .. it works
get C clamps .. hammer it at the table edge .. just like any metal sheets
steel sheets are harder
I didnt think the 2mm aluminum would be such a pain, but I'll try the hammer method
For neatness i'd look for buying or hiring a decent break - makes easy work of 1.5mm aluminium.
Also a little tip - when measuring don't forget to take into account the actual bend radius as its easy to be 1 or 2mm out once you have the bend complete
