ok seriously 1.32 is good for the C0 stepping eny chances to know what is your batch ?
Vtt is auto @ bios ? if yes try the lowest setting that you are stable

I dunno, it could be your chipset, it could be your memory, it could be your FSB - it could be a lot of things. Unfortunately there's no easy way to overclock; you have to tweak things a bit at a time and then refine them when you get it stable.

Godmyster, Im also struggling trying to get Orthos Blend stable on my E8600. I dont know how old your memory is, but if its going bad, relaxing the timings wont help...run memtest, test 5 to make sure the ram isnt faulty. Anotrher big setting for Orthos Blend stability is MCH Vcore, try raising that and see what happens.

the one where you boot of CD. Some people use the memtest windows version, and say it is better at picking up memory errors. MCH voltage is also known as the NorthBridge (NB) voltage, and definitely needs increasing when you raise your FSB to certain levels...check in your BIOS and see if you see that option, and raise the voltage.

I have been pouring the volts to 2 e8400's since January 21,2008 and January 28,2008.
Neither proceessor has seen less than 1.518 and both have seen well over 1.6 about 1/3 of the time
One has resided full time on my P5E and the other has split time with my P5Ke- wifi and my P5Q-Pro
the P5Q-pro is well just no where near my idea of a great board. Actually I hate it on many levels!!
Yesterday I decided It was time once again to torture my e8400 with some benching. So I cranked it up!!
the processor was running at 1.675 in the bios on my P5E but as you can see it will be much less in reality
the cpu pll was set at 1.72 the NB was set at 1.7 and the mem was set at 2.22.
My 260GTX on Aquamark was crnaked to the freakin max!!!.
I have a liquid cooled processor but stock air on the 260GTX. I pump cold air into my case from outside via the
radiator so it is Xtremely cold in my case. as a matter of fact my freakin case itself is freezing!!
my case is actually 38.9F right now. My radiator temp is 29F my G.Skill memory is 44.1F I use a temp gun on everything!!

Here is what I did yesterday . these are my highest scores to date at my highest clocks. So I can tell you after 11 months there is no degradation
    happening with my chips!

As you can see a little cold air helps kick my completely stock vanilla MSI 260GTX right into overdrive!!

I should have an e8600 but Stalliontek sent my a 7300ES instead!! They just got it back today so when the refund shows
I am going step up to the 8600 and shoot for the stars with it!!

The P5E coupled with G.Skill 6400HZ memory and this processor has been the beat system i have EVER owned!!

No degradation at 1.5v? Maybe I should go for 4.5GHz 24/7 after all lol, but it's more of a motherboard issue than anything else lol.

It doesn't matter what batch you get... if it's an E0, it'll most likely be a monster overclocker. I would however recommend getting an E8500 if you can do so without breaking the bank - the 9.5 multi makes higher overclocks considerably easier.

I was directed to an online retailer which is selling E8500s labelled E0 which conveniently takes the guesswork out of the "which stepping" problem, so I just bought one without thinking of FPO/batch or VID, something I wasted too much time doing earlier this year with Q6600s.

And the result? I have a great chip which will do 4GHz on 1.23v and at my current settings of 4.4GHz on 1.35v the load temps are 47C tops.

Short answer: If it's an E0, batch number isn't really important, neither is VID.
