I agree with the poster above don't miss interpret the numbers or maybe they wanted us to think of it that way maybe they could get a lot more ratings if they put 110% instead of 10%
    In progress......

RV770 -> slightly faster card is being considered, but no new core -> RV870

Most of the code-names in this thread are made up.

I hope they keep it simple and just call the faster revision 49X0 instead of calling it the 5000 series. Would be less confusing. The card won't have any new features and no drastic performance improvements and thus no reason to introduce a new family just for a minor revision.

ATi cut out sideport and I think they should've cut out the DDR3 controller too, just use DDR5 for both the Pro and XT versions since chip prices aren't that high anyways. This could easily make room for 960SPs, 48TMUs and still have less transistors than the original RV770.

Sideport will probably make a comeback with RV870 though.

heh Any of this info whether it's a disinformation campaign or not is really gonna be irrelevant come January. Disinformation campaigns only work if the other side is listening. They might see it, but it's not gonna have any affect on what they release and when they release it. nVidia doesn't have to guess anything. They already know what they have. They are focused on their own race. They aren't interested in what's happening in the other lane.

After AMD's big effort of spreading misinformation before the RV770 launch I don't think NVIDIA is listening to anyone right now.
