P06 BIOS let me put my memory to 986 stable with 2.1v on the ram without errors in OCCT / Prime95.
I have P07 and going to try further, if not im going to tweak my timings

Cant get mine to post again after shutting down the previous night. Just get code FF on LCD on the board. Fans spin up, lights turn on. Sound like cpu? changed the sticks of ram out individually, pulled the cmos for a day (tried a diff battery, too), changed video cards, unplugged every drive. That day or the previous day I booted up and for some reason the molex on my D5 got knocked a little loose, and saw on my Everest OSD that I was at 70c and my pump wasnt running. I shut down immediately, dont think those temps shoulda killed it for that short period of time. The cores have been running mid 50's at best while running 3.8 at 1.38v since I bought it half a year ago.

hi, im new and i just my first build, i got the evga 780i board with the e8400 cpu, im running it now i think at 444mhz FSB, the cpu is 4 hour prime95 stable at 4ghz at 1.32 volts, at never ent past 55c on speedfan so its liek 50 on real temp, air cooled
i want to get it higher i been able to get it to 4.2, but it stays stable for about 2-3 hours on prime95, i was able to get it to get to the desktop at 4.5ghz but wasnt stable and caused the one board audio to fail.
what should i do to get a higher oc?
my e8500 (on my evga 780i) boots into windows @ 500x9 on 1.4vcore. stock NB and SB cooling...

Just a quickie, do these Nvidia boards have a better mem controller then the X48's? cause this 780i PWNS my X48 in mem timing and overclock...
it just did 2.05v 4x1gig sticks 1100mhz 5-4-4-14... my X48 couldn't do that if its life depended on it.

I recently was considering selling my RAID card. When I installed my drives using the on board RAID it had some sorry through-put. (120mb/s. On my ASUS P5W I was easily getting 240mb/s). I figured I would upgrade my BIOS and chipset but, still had the same results. Has anyone else had this problem?

Is anyone else having an issue with the on-board RAID? Mine is only reaching 120mb/s with three SSD's in RAID0. I was using a RAID card and was considering selling it until I hooked up my drives to the on-board set-up. MAN TALK ABOUT SORRY!!! needless to say i am keeping my areca.

yes keep the areca. As long as you dont plan on 3-way sli, the areca is the way to go.

Yeah, on board RAID sucks on the 780i. Best off getting/using a decent hardware RAID card![]()
It looks like the Nvidia control center is reseting the FSB everytime it enters Windows, to an unmaintainable level. How do you turn it off? Note that if it is used to push the FSB and it hangs during a test, there is no way to change it back before the boot.
Thanks!
There is someone on another forum that is having problems with the 780i PC setup. They currently use:
Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ stock 2.4GHz
OCZ 4GB DDR2800
EVGA 8800GT
EVGA Nvidia 780i Mobo (integrated sound)
Windows Vista Ultimate x64
Problems are but may not be limited to:
1) Random shut-downs. He leaves his computer on all the time, and since around Christmas when he got the game he will wake up to it completely turned off and it will ask to boot to safe mode when he turns it on
2) Graphical issues; grainy video while playing FC2 then sometimes monitor goes into standby, sometimes computer shuts down
3) Boot-up issue; sometimes he has to press the power button multiple times to start the computer. he notices that the lights in his Antec 900 case will flash when this happens (I'm unsure if it is every time he presses the button or just once)... THIS IS LIKELY UNRELATED! He let me know he has had this issue since he can remember on this machine (about 8 months old).
4) Registry Corruption. A OS reinstall was required to fix the problem
What has been tried so far or looked into:
-temps of the CPU, GPU, southbridge chipset
-The video card was replaced for a 9800 GTX+
-Various driver updates
-etc
This is the gist of it for now. Is there anyone out their that can offer some help on the situation?

Just used the pencil mod, and now my CPUZ reports the same voltage as BIOS. My QX9*50 is operating at the intended voltage. 4.1GHz with more headroom![]()

I picked up a EVGA 780i and put my 6750 on it. With my out of town work it's just been running stock. well I finally had a chance to work with this setup over the last couple of days. I have to say the 780i board and windows 7 64bit has been the most fun I've had in a long time. Not one BSOD or hard crash. windows7 seems to be very stable OS. Anyways here is some of my OC'ing results

Is there any program that will export my BIOS settings to a .txt or something similiar?
Believe it or not, I'm still dorking around with this board and a e8400. I can get into windows7 under several speeds throw the book at it with stability tests and gaming sessions, all no problems. Then suddenly ill be browsing using firefox and RESTART...wth?
Anyone else have any random restarts with this board? Fixes?
