2x2gb pc6400 ballistix at 1200mhz

I got my 2x2gb ballistix today,and just thought i would post my pic with them at 1200 at 2.0v

Heres the ones i got-

They are cheap for 2gb sticks that will do 1200 on only 2.0v

Looks nice, but your run is on cas6, will they do cas 5 ?

This is what I am looking for, but not at CAS6. Can you try DDR2-1200 with CAS5 and see what voltage you need?

Great to see that set get to that kinda speed, ive been looking at getting some, having seen it for that much on ebuyer, I was looking at some G.SKill PC8000 for around £50 off of memoryc.com, and while they seemed to be good, this is just too good a deal to miss!
A friend is looking at buying some new RAM, ill probs get him to get a set of these aswell, he was looking at some OCZ gold for the same price, its a no brainer!
Do most of these kits clock well, (maybe not this well, but still better than average) coz they have micron D9's dont they?

Just me..........

I think these may be Promos or PSC IC's. Not all of them clock this this TI66ER seems to have gotten lucky. Most should do DDR2-1066 but there's no guarantees.

Not the good D9s...they use high density ICs that don't OC well. The GSkill won't OC well either (unless you are VERY lucky).
I'm still waiting for SuperPi or some other proof that his Ballistix are stable.

I tried at 5.5.5.15 but no post,maybe with a tweak they might get there

Would i be better running them at 11xx 5.5.5.15?

Cachemen wont run on 64bit vista.

more mhz are always better but if you try cachemem you will see witch one is better
cachemem runs fine on vista 64 try the latest everest

although i thing 1200 6-5-5-15 should be a bit faster than 11xx 5-5-5-16

You need 555, cas 6 is weak, thats ddr-3 material

Bother, I have reccomended it a couple of times in the last couple of days, because i thought it would clock really well, and was at a great price.......
So, any other RAM you would reccomend thats better than that? (2x2gb), and for reasonable money,

I got my set today, got to ddr1100 easy with the 5-5-5-15 timings, cpu (Q9300) crapped out any higher, going to try with a higher divider to see what the max I can get out of it is (ignore the sig, totally wrong lol)

Seems most of it is good clocking, tomshardware did a test and they got theirs to 1200mhz memtest stable

Toms had the same 6.5.6.15 timings as mine at 1200.They will go upto 1200(maybe higher) but only at cas6.I tried 5.5.5.15 at 1200 but no post.5.5.5.15 at 1100 aint too bad is it?

Coz there are many RAM sets that I would rather buy, from the states, due to better avalibility and pricing, but, i cant.....
So, any decent sets in the UK?

http://www.memoryc.com/computermemor...0pkseries.html very good kit for £73. The 8 layer PCB should help when it comes to clocking. I would guess ~1150MHz @ 2.1-2.2v, give or take 50MHz or so.

The build im doing has a limit of around £700 for everything, apart from, case, OS, keyboard and mouse......
I have a thread over in liquid cooling asking whether I should go for water cooling over air.....

TBH I would stick with air, easier to upgrade components, air is cheaper, top quality air still performs well, you don't have to worry about leaks, moving your PC is much easier when you use air, and of course less spent on cooling = you can buy higher grade parts.

Yeah, I probs will stick with air, but im still not sure about the RAM, i dont think i can really afford to put that much money towards the RAM, are there any cheaper sets (in the UK) that will give me good performance, i mean, im not extreme, although, getting the e8500 to 4.5GHz would be nice, maybe higher, and due to the higher multi, I wont need AMAZING RAM just good performers,
